Power unit LINKAN- side view after the connection: 1. Connector of handset controller. 2. Connector of the acuator for the head side lifting actuator. 3. Connector of backrest acuator. 4. Connector of thigh-rest acuator. 5. Connector of the acuator for the end side lifting actuator. 6. Connector of the backup battery 7. Connector of power supply.

Check the connections are correct by adjusting the positions of individual parts of the patient surface and bed height using the handset. Do not carry out any connections, assembly operations other than those that are described in these Instructions. Operation of the Electrically operated Bed-Model FS3238W Height Adjustment and Positioning of the backrest and thigh-rest Height adjustment and positioning of back- and thigh-rest is carried out by means of electric actuators using a controller..

1. Two button for adjusting angle of the backrest. 2. Two buttons for controlling the height of the whole bed.(up and down) 3. Two button for adjusting angle of the thigh-rest. 4. Two button for adjusting angle of the trendelenburg and reverse trendelenburg. All the positions are adjusted by simple pressing of the chosen function button until the required position is reached.

WARNING Take care when positioning individual parts and adjusting the height of the bed. Especially, avoid entrapment of fingers or limbs when lowering the tilting angle. When adjusting the height of the bed, ensure the area below the mattress platform is clear of all obstructions. Please put the bed to the lowest position to reduce the risk cause by the patient rolling from the bed when they get or leave the bed with no help. Emergency mechanical unlocking of the backrest and the thigh-rest In case of a mains failure you can lower the backrest and adjust the thigh-rest mechanically if you have to resuscitate the patient. Before moving the bed, the mains cable must always be disconnected from the mains and the castors must be unbraked. During any bed movement it is necessary to hold the mains cable in hand to protect it against the damage by castors. Do not run over the mains cable with the castors. When the cable gets damaged there is a risk of an electric shock! When crossing uneven places in rooms (thresholds) lift the bed manually to ease the load on the small castors to relieve the stress on the castors. Careless crossing over uneven places may result in deformations of the castor mountings!

Assembly of accessories Lifting pole and Transfusion pole The lifting pole should be fixed to one of the holders in the corners of the patient surface frame (in the head part). Insert the pole into the socket. Lock the bar by turning it so that the locking pin fits in the aperture. Hang a light triangular plastic handle on the bar and adjust the length of the strap. You can use the holders of the lifting pole to fix an infusion holder using an adapter holder. The same operation of the transfusion pole.

Do not use abrasive cleaning agents, e.g. cleaning sand, steel wool, etc. The bed must not be cleaned in washing machines! Trouble Shooting Problem The controller does not work

Possible Cause 1. There is no voltage in the power unit 2. One of the connectors is connected wrongly 3. Positioning functions are locked on the locking panel 4. Controller, actuator or the power unit are faulty

Solution 1. Check the power supply and the mains cable 2. Check all the connectors thoroughly 3. Unlock the appropriate function on the locking panel 4. Contact the service provider, manufacturer or distributor

Do not attempt to repair the controllers when a failure occurs! Do not open the protective cover of the electric controller or power supply! Maintenance and preventive checks Carry out regular maintenance of the bed every 6 months. When checking the bed, focus on the following points: 1-Function Check all adjustment (electric controller)and locking(guardrail, calfrest rachet) can be carried out properly even in the maximum position. In the case of electric controller, focus on the smooth movements and low noise. Before proceeding, disconnect the bed from the mains and lock all functions on the nursing panel (if available). To ensure against accidental movement, e.g. by a third person. 2-Castors Check the function of castors, brakes and the tightness of the bolts of the castors. Remove accumulated dust, stuck fibres, hair, etc. 3-Machanical joints Check the tightness of all bolts and screws. Check for increased slackness or backlash of individual moving parts.

4-Electric connections Check that the connectors are plugged in the sockets of the controller. With the bed disconnected from the mains perform a visual check of all cables all along their length, especially the mains cable to check the insulation is not damaged. The supply cable carries 230 V. Check its condition visually and with the bed disconnected from the mains. 5-Lubrication of moveable parts of the bed When washing the bed with disinfection and degreasing agents, the joints of movable parts are dried. At 6 monthly intervals or earlier these joints must be lubricated with silicone grease, the guardrail guides in the bed-end columns, plastic bushings of the connection of the lifting cross of the patient surface with the bed frame, connecting points of tubes - the backrest and the knee rest.
