PEB 802 Capstone Design Project Assignment I Rubric During PEB802 Capstone Design project a student should have recognized the need for, and have had the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change. The purpose of this progress report is to evaluate the students on initial detail system design, application, knowledge of mathematics, natural science, engineering fundamentals and engineering specialization (civil, mechanical or electrical) to the solution of a given complex engineering problems and their capability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding by making a prototype.

Detailed mathematical modeling to the solution: Does the candidate exhibit sufficient detailed analysis of complex engineering problem to produce the results of mathematical modeling? Mathematical modeling principle activity that student have to utilize to solve a complex engineering problem and methods that can be successfully applied to execute and implement the Capstone Design project. Detailed analysis on improvement required Has the candidate demonstrated his/her ability and compared the expected results with mathematical modeling to execute the capstone design project? Does the candidate listed out the identified parameter values that are not adequately known, variables that should have been included, and/or assumptions/restrictions that could be lifted? Status of prototype: Does the executed work present a planned approach to develop a prototype to demonstrate the functionality and to verify a certain concept or theory of Capstone Design Project and other related issues that can be identified for future work? Does the candidate planned to do prototyping exercise to visualize the functionality of the Capstone design project and make a working interactive model. Prototype Testing and Validation Plans: Does the candidate make plan of his/her specification of test method, test descriptions, and different stages of testing of his prototype?
