Grammar Can and can't for ability Statements Use can and can't to talk about ability. Use can to talk about things you do well: I can speak Chinese. Use can't to talk about things you don't do well, or don't do: I can't speak Spanish.

Questions Use can to ask questions about ability. Information questions Use question word + noun + subject + verb: A What languages can you speak? B I can speak English and Chinese.
