Pizza-fest In 1889, Queen Margaret of Savoy visited the small and poor city of Naples in Italy with the idea of eating the famous pizza dish that all the poor citizens of that city loved. One of the best chefs in town prepared a special pizza: the Marguerite pizza with tomatoes and mozzarella. Since that moment, Naples became famous for its pizza and its special Marguerite Pizza. In September, a Pizza Festival takes place to celebrate the creation of the Marguerite pizza. Pizza fans and experts from around the world take part in competitions, big dinners and special classes. The event lasts 11 days and the participants can try 100 different types of pizzas. The rarest are the “chocolate pizza” and the “banana pizza.” The final pizza-fest is marked by the main event - choosing the best pizza. During the whole event, the guests have the opportunity to vote for the best dish. At the end, the creator of the best pizza wins $100,000! Adapted from: www.smilepizza.com.ua
