3 No one in her family wished Maxine happy birthday before she went to school. When she got to class, her friends were whispering and stopped and looked at her when she walked in. They didn’t talk to her all day and Maxine was really upset. After school she had a tennis lesson and she played terribly. What changed things was that when she got home, all her friends and family were waiting for her. They had organised a surprise party.
