N u m e ro l o g i c Fo rc e s Numbers are everywhere. Some of them are obvious, some are hidden. Some of them have meaning to us, like our date of birth, our telephone number or the number in our bank account. Other numbers seem rather irrelevant, like the exact number of stairs we have to use to get to our apartment, the number of birthmarks we have on our body or the number of red cars we have seen up to this point (unless you are an autistic person). Now, what if EVERY number could have meaning to us, if we looked at it in a certain way? I love numerology because of its simplicity. You just take any number, boil it down to only one digit (cross total) and come up with meaning. As there are only nine options, there is very little to learn - the difficulty lies in connecting the dots and making sense of what that final number is telling you.

ONE – beginning, self-awareness, selfishness, independence TWO – intuition, diplomacy, indecision, sensitivity THREE – creativeness, growth, optimism, communication FOUR – patience, effectiveness, soberness, subordination FIVE – adventure, fast pace, passion, restlessness SIX – love, harmony, responsibility, compassion SEVEN – spirituality, perfectionism, cynicism, introversion EIGHT – power, work, determination, greed NINE – wisdom, completion, realignment, romance While this on its own can be a minimalistic yet very powerful tool for giving readings, imagine what could be possible when combining this with mentalism. Having played with numerology for a long time now, I always searched for a clean way of forcing the final 3

outcome. This is what I have come up with. I will explain three variations. Two of them are completely impromptu, one requires little preparation.

CROSSED OUT You write down the numbers from one through nine on a piece of paper like this: 123456789 Ask them to cross out any three colocated numbers and to write that three digit number below. Let’s assume they pick 678: 123456789 678 Next step is to choose any three digits while keeping their order. They should write them below the first 4

three digit number like so: 123456789 678 239 Ask them to build any three digit number, using the remaining digits, and to write it below as well: 123456789 678 239 514 Now, that they built three numbers, have them add everything up. In this case, the result is 1431 - the outcome actually is different, depending on what they chose. However, the final CROSS TOTAL (in this case 5

1+4+3+1=9) is forced. It is nine every time, no matter what numbers are generated out of that pool of digits. The cross total of the final result will always be the exact same as the cross total of that pool of digits (in this case all the numbers from one through nine). Just to be clear: All the instructions on how to compose those three numbers are actually BS. It doesn’t matter if they keep the digits in order - we only say so because it sounds meaningful and distracts from the method. As long as they use all the digits to build the numbers, the final result’s cross total will be the same as the cross total of all the digits used. Now, as the result will always be nine, the way I just explained it, we should add another layer to a) make it possible to force ANY digit from one through nine and b) make the force almost impossible to backtrack. Here is how: We simply cross out one digit before they start the process of composing numbers - leaving only eight numbers for them to work with. However, before 6

we do so, we ask them a question about their query/personality. This way, they must assume that we cross out a certain number depending on their answer. It won’t seem suspicious at all but mysterious and meaningful. This is how it would look like if you would force the number seven: 123456789 The cross total of the final result will always be NINE MINUS THE NUMBER YOU CROSS OUT. If you cross out nine though, it is still nine. Obviously, they cannot build three three-digit numbers anymore, so simply make the first one a two-digit number. You could even have them build four two-digit numbers if you’d like to - it doesn’t matter as long as they use all digits. Afterwards they might not even remember that you 7

crossed out a number to begin with - because all the numbers are crossed out anyway. This way, the method becomes pretty deceptive.

PHONY Here is another variation, where you don’t have to cross out anything yourself. Instead, you use a different layer of deception: Pre-show. Simply find out their phone number, calculate the cross total until the result is a single digit and remember it - this is the number we are going to force. In performance, ask them to come up with a query: “Please think of a personal question you want to learn more about, something that touches you emotionally. I don’t answer questions about health though as I am not a doctor …” This forces them to think about love, relationships,

8

friends and family. Now ask for their query and state: “Okay, perfect! We need a long number here. As your question is about connection and communication, your phone number should work well. Do you know it by heart?” It appears as if you would have chosen a different “long number” depending on the query. Now, simply use that phone number instead of the digits from one through nine. Have them compose numbers, using precise instructions similar to what we did in the first variation. It must feel like a ritual, as if everything they do would be important and meaningful - while in reality it’s irrelevant and meaningless to the outcome.

EQUATOR This third variation uses ANNEMANN’S “Life Equation”Principle as an additional layer. In order to build a pool of numbers, simply ask them to write down the 9

following numbers next to each other: - How old they will be at the end of this year - The day and month of the current year - The year they were born in Their age plus the year they were born in will always be the current year. The day and month you already know, so you know the cross total as well. Example: I will be 28, today is the 18th of January and I was born in 1992. 2818011992 While the pool of numbers may vary, the final cross total will be five for everyone today. Tomorrow it will be six - you got the idea.

No matter what numbers you compose out of the digits above, the final cross total of the addition will be five.

NINE IS NEUTRAL Here is a cool hack to speed up the calculation of any cross total. Remember that NINE IS NEUTRAL. You can simply ignore nines (and zeros of course). You can also ignore digits that add up to nine. So, before you add up all the numbers, eliminate as many as you can. 149258629 Eliminate the nines. 149258629 One and eight is nine. Eliminate them. 149258629 Four and five is nine. Eliminate them. 11

149258629 Now you only have to add up three digits instead of nine to know the cross total. 2 + 6 + 2 = 10 1+0=1 1 is the final cross total of 1 4 9 2 5 8 6 2 9 Using this technique, you can calculate cross totals in seconds with very little effort.

TRUST YOUR INSTINCS Even though you could use these techniques to predict the very number they end up on, I would not recommend that. A straight forward prediction would scream “number force”. Instead, you can use it to create coincidence effects like the following.

“Are you an over thinker sometimes? Most people are, I guess. However, after this demonstration, you will trust your instincts a little more. Are you ready? Please think of a color but not red! Forget about that color and think of a letter but not Z! Forget about that letter and think of a single digit but not zero! Perfect. Write that digit down please but don’t show anyone! Forget about that number and clear your mind! Perfect, you are pretty good at this. Now, take your time and think of a personal question of concern that you would like to explore.” They tell you what’s on their mind, let’s assume the question is: How should I go about that job interview tomorrow? “I’ll show you how to generate a number that might give you an answer to that question. First of all, your question is about job and career, so we cross out the three. Take the pen, cross out two collocated numbers and write them underneath …”

You crossed out the number three because you peeked that they thought of a six at the beginning. Now you go through the whole “CROSSED OUT”process as described above until they have arrived on a single digit - the six in this case. “The number six represents love and responsibility. You should focus on bringing out those qualities tomorrow. Don’t try to be funny or cool or super elegant - just be loving, warm, caring and behave responsibly. Just be nice and respectful - they will love you for that! By the way, what did your first instinct say?” When they take out their “prediction” from the beginning it says six as well!
