KATHY My favourite thing is my car. It’s a Fiat 500 and it’s about forty years old. It’s red – my favourite colour – and it’s got an old radio. It isn’t very fast, but I love it. Oh, one more thing – its name is Rose!

DANNY I’ve got a cat called Jasper. He’s about three years old and he’s beautiful. He’s black and white and he’s very friendly. He’s got two sisters, Missy and Topsy. Missy is my brother’s cat and Topsy is my cousin’s cat.

SABRINA What’s my favourite thing? It’s my new mobile. Of course, it’s not just a phone, it’s also got all my photos and music on it too. It’s a Nokia and it’s got an MP3 player, games, videos, the internet, a camera … everything, really!

For the pronoun I: It isn’t very fast, but I love it.



For companies: Fiat, Nokia. For some things: an MP3 player, a TV, a DVD.



TIP • We don’t use capital letters with nouns: I’ve got a car. not I’ve got a Car.

We use an exclamation mark ( ! ) at the end of a surprising sentence: Its name is Rose! use commas ( , ) for lists: It’s got an MP3 player, games, videos, the internet, a camera …
