Mr. Agozzino Multiple Intelligences

Each individual has a different type of intelligence that represents their way of learning/working. This theory was discovered by a psychologist named Howard Gardner. In this short essay, I will describe two of the multiple intelligences that I have and why they apply to who I am.

I love working with people and talking to them. I like to hear about what other people’s perspectives are on certain topics. I also am a very open person when it comes hearing out what others have to say, and I enjoy sharing my ideas as well. This is something I would consider when it will be the time for me to chose my future career. This type of intelligence is called “interpersonal”. It is described as being able to work in groups and have empathy for others which very much applies to me. Some people don’t necessarily like working with others and aren’t very opened. These people have an “intrapersonal” kind of intelligence. Knowing this about myself, like I described before, will be helpful for my choosing of carer. I would most likely go for a job that involves working with others such as being a social worker, nurse, teacher.ect.

Since a very young age, I have a very strong passion for music. I love learning new songs, singing along and knowing the lyrics by heart. Ever since I’m 7 years old, I play the piano. It is something I absolutely adore. At a young age, I discovered I had an ear for music. By this, I mean that when I play piano, or want to learn a new song, I learn it by ear, and not by using a

music sheet. I have a strong memory when it comes to these things all in relation with music. This is also a type of intelligence that I have. It is called a “musical” type of intelligence. This type includes having a strong memory, and an intelligence that applies to music. Careers associated with this kind of intelligence are; singers, composers and may more. This could also helpful for my career choice.

After learning about all these different types of intelligence, I am now able to differ between the careers that would work perfectly with my types of intelligences and also differ from the ones that wouldn’t be great for me. I liked learning about multiple intelligences; they could be very helpful for some individuals who aren’t sure about what type of job they would be interested in.
