Don't fly into the higher or lower pitch, but keep a centered focus. Every entrance should be clean, without grabbing your vocal cords. Think of blowing breath through the nose.
Don't emphasise on the M. Relax your jaw and lips. Give intensity to the vowel.
Breathe in gently through the nose, as if your are smelling a flower. The jaw is relaxed. Sing this exercise also on e, i, u and o. Avoid glottal stops. If necessary sing on 'ng' at the beginning of the phrase. A Glottal Stop is essentially the attack you put onto the start of a note by closing off the back of your throat first. It is the easiest way to make your voice sound larger than it really is and you can change the quality of the note as well. Pop singers often fall into the habit of over using Glottal Stops and it can end up sounding awful. Similarly, singers with soft and airy voices tend to under utilize this technique
Many vocal exercises are in C. If necessary transpose them. The
vowels

open.
Start on c and transpose every turn a minor second higher. Without forcing. Sing this exercise also on river, rover, runner, reason and raven. Sing the last syllable and be sure not to swallow it. Listen carefully for the tip of the tongue rolling briefly at the beginning of the exercise. Do not sing an accent on the highest note.
Also on e, i, o, u. Breathe in quietly through the nose and keep the entrance soft. Breathe in through the mouth while your mouth is anticipating the vowel that is coming.

Be aware of the difference in the abdominal muscles between the rising and the descending triplets. You will have to support more when rising!
Only move the tip of your tongue, not your jaw. Start slowly and take a breath where necessary. When you can achieve a nice legato in the triplets, speed up. If everything goes well, you will need only one breath to sing the phrase. You are training in this exercise triplets, legato, economic breath and relaxation of the jaw. Exercise 9 suits beginners, and 10 is for the advanced singers. Also the advanced start slowly.
Important: breathe in slowly, sipping the air through the teeth. Sing the triplets as equal as possible. Do not make any accents.
Breathe in very slowly, sipping the air through the teeth. Fill your lungs completely. If you are doing it right, you will get a full feeling under your armpits and not under your shoulders. Count in your native tongue in one breath until ten. Sing fast and legato. Count the repetitions on your fingers. Try to repeat ten times.
Sing these exercises transposing every time a semitone higher. Practice also on no, nu, ni, ne. Also on la, le, li, lo, lu. Feel the differences with your tongue between the n and the l. Take the l with its low pressure as an example for the n.
Keep the tip of the tongue in its place and only move the center of your tongue in the j. Your jaw stays calm and relaxed. Try also a breath through the mouth, as in a hurry or in fright. While breathing in, the mouth is already in the aposition (not too far open). Feel how your flanks (sides) expand. Do not allow them to collapse, but hold them out. Sing also on nay, nay, si, si, or nu, nu. Feel that the tip of the tongue is really working with these new consonants.
Sing this exercise as relaxed as if you were speaking. Sing clear and sotto voce, so the voice will not fixate. Sing also on ni ni, na na and no no. The ni should not sound nasal. Let the tip of the tongue work, making the 'n' in 'ni'. The tongue should be flat and relaxed (also on the back), as if you were drinking. The opening between the teeth does not change while singing the scales.
Sing as legato as in Gregorian chant. Make clear the vowels. Do not make the m and n too nasal.
Imitate the sound of a toy car or a snorting horse. Or say: Bwrr, how cold! Produce this 'r' with your lips not with your throat.
Let the o's and a's escape quickly. Keep the lips always relaxed.
This exercise is a perfect warmingup. After this, fast words will come easier.
Breathe through the nose. Make the o behind your lips, as in yawning with your mouth closed. Don't push on the m with your breath, but let it hum gently. Don't start the runs with a h. Create your own onesyllablewords that start with a m. Sing the exercise also on ng instead of the m while keeping your mouth slightly opened. Anticipate on the vowel. Think of the oo before you sing 'moon'.
Let the v sound fine. Be sure to keep your upper teeth loosely on your lower lip. Sing also on the German words: 'Wasser', 'Wohin', 'Wieso'. Pronounce the 'W' as a 'V'
Practice also on: veal, veil, vase, vow, vote. Do not hurry, but let the z's and v's hum nicely. Use the rest in the second bar to relax your body, so that the air can flow in.
Take the vowel of the first syllable down to the lower c. Sing this exercise also on: Jésus, Judas (Zjudá), Jolies jumelles (= jolly twince), Gibier, gigot (=venison, leg of lamb), Gilet, jupon, Gentille Jeanette Journal Génois (= from Geneva), Java, Japon. Look for examples in the French vocal literature
Blow out. Wait untill you really need air, take a fast sip of air and call/sing two bars. Relax in every fermata for the next breath.
Breathe quietly through the nose Sing also on e, i, u, and o.
These are the names of Russian composers. The pronunciation and the accent are as follows: BaraDJIEN, MUsorgski, TsjaiKOFski, PraKOfjef, SjastaKOwietsj. Donot sing too heavy on the last tone, but slide towards it. An important rule: if you have been singing high, donot stop all of a sudden, but search for your lowest notes with an exercise as this one. Maybe you will have to start a little higher. Be patient; if on the lowest notes the text fails to come, sing them first on ng or ya.
Sing the six bars first in C and transpose each time a semi tone higher untill A flat. Then descend to C again. Be aware what your tongue is doing: during the e slightly vaulted and in the i more bulging. Let this movement be supple. The tip of your tongue stays at you lower teeth.
Sing as legato as possible. Donot put too much weight on the low c and let your larynx slide down smoothly, not with a plop. Feel how the tongue is working with the i and rests with the a. (italian i and a) After this exercise it is good to do an exercise on ng.
Relax after each run, but stand up straight and on two feet.
Start singing in C and repeat the sentence a semi tone higher. Go on up to A flat and back to C. Sing these triads also with: ae, ai and ao. Sing in a smooth tempo and accelerate. Use the basic vowel a as the start position. Be aware to sing a soft entrance. Donot open the mouth too wide with the O.
Take care to articulate well! Keep your head quiet, do not nod. Sing in tune: descending runs incline to finish flat.
