To crochet this giraffe toy you need: 100% Co�on yarn of yellow, brown and beige colours (100g - 260m / 3,53Oz - 274 yds) 2.5 mm crochet hook Black yarn for embroidering nose 7cm diameter wooden teether ring 6 mm safety eyes Fiberfill for stuffing Ra�le insert (op�onal) Sewing needle and scissors S�tch marker (to mark first s�tch of the round) The height of finished toy is about 13 cm. Size will vary if you use the different weight yarn, hook or ring size.

Abbreviations: st = s�tch ch = chain sc = single crochet inc = increase (2 single crochets in one s�tch) dec = invisible decrease (2 s�tches together working on front loops only) sl = slip s�tch hdc = half double crochet (..) = repeat between () number of �mes indicated [..] = total number of s�tches in the round or row

Snout: Work around founda�on chain. Use beige yarn. 1. ch 6 [6] 2. Start in second chain from the hook: inc, sc 3, 4 sc in next st, now work in opposite side of the chain: sc 3, inc [14] 3. (inc) repeat 2 �mes, sc 3, (inc) repeat 4 �mes, sc 3, (inc) repeat 2 �mes [22] 4 - 5. sc 22 [22] sl in first st of round 5. Fasten off and leave long thread for sewing.

Ears (make 2): Work around founda�on chain. Use yellow yarn. 1. ch 9 [9] 2. Start in second chain from the hook: sl 1, sc 2, hdc 4, sc 1, ch 3, in second chain from the hook: sl 1, sc 1, in opposite side of star�ng chain: sc 1, hdc 4, sc 2, sl 1 [18] Fasten off and leave long thread for sewing.

Assemble the head: 1. A�ach the snout right under the eyes. Top of the snout should be on round 9. 2. Embroider nostrils on the snout using black yarn. 3. A�ach horns to the top of the head. They should be posi�oned between rounds 3 and 4. 4. A�ach ears to the sides of the head below horns. Ears should start at round 6. 5. Embroider fur details on the forehead using brown yarn.

Neck:

Big spots (make 3):

Work in rows. Use yellow yarn. Start with founda�on chain. Note that you may need to increase or decrease the number of s�tches to match your wooden ring. Founda�on chain should ‘hug’ wooden ring completely.

Assemble the rattle: 1. Sew the neck part around the wooden ring. 2. A�ach spots to the neck at random places. 3. A�ach the head to the edge of the neck.
