Instructional Objectives Make sure your objectives are SMART: specific, measurable, aggressive (challenging), reasonable, and time-based

Assessment Rubric Writing a rubric takes time and careful thought, but it will be the guiding star for the entire project. Do not skimp on this part of the lesson.

Question or Problem Posed to the Students Make sure it is as authentic and reasonable as possible.

Strategies for Student Collaboration Will they be divided into groups, or all work together? If you divide them, how will you divide them up—older with younger, same ages, smart with struggling, or what? And why? How will students be encouraged to work together in an online setting? What technologies must be in place for that to happen? What roles will be required? Will you assign who does what role or allow students to decide?

Resources the Students will use to meet the lesson objectives Make sure research materials are as authentic and reliable as possible—interviews with professionals in the field, authoritative websites, textbooks, field trips, and so on. Also make sure to list any materials you and the students will need to have on hand to complete the lesson.

Strategies for feedback and scaffolding How will you, as the teacher/guide, ensure that students are on the right track? What is your plan for communicating with them?

Time allotted for this lesson (deadlines) Lesson notes, miscellaneous, justification Have you addressed the Six A’s of PBL? Any other comments?
