de San Patricio es una fiesta religiosa y es el aniversario de San Patricio. Esa fiesta ha sido celebrada por cientos de años en Irlanda como una fiesta fervorosa. La ciudad de Boston fue la primera en celebrar públicamente el Día de San Patricio en los Estados Unidos en 1737. En 1762, la ciudad de Nueva York tuvo su primer desfile de San Patricio y ahora Irlanda usa la fiesta como una oportunidad de celebrar a Irlanda en el resto del mundo. El festival de San Patricio en Dublín, Irlanda del Sur, es una celebración de múltiples desfiles, conciertos, dramas, espectáculos al aire libre y fuegos artificiales.

is a religious holiday and the anniversary of St. Patrick. This feast has been celebrated for hundreds of years in Ireland as a fervent holiday. The city of Boston was the first to publicly celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in the United States in 1737. In 1762, the city of New York had its first St. Patrick’s parade and Ireland now uses the holiday as an opportunity to celebrate Ireland in the world. The St. Patrick’s Festival in Dublin, Southern Ireland, is a celebration of many parades, concerts, dramas, outdoor shows and fireworks.

Saint Patrick, whose

real name was Maewyn, it is believed to be born in the island of Wales in the year 385 AD. Then he was sold as a slave and escaped; Patrick was named the second bishop of Ireland, where he served for 30 years. Patrick died on March 17 of the year 461 AD. St. Patrick is the patron saint and national apostle of Ireland and it is believed that he contributed to the Christianization of the nation.

The clover leaf is a traditional icon of St. Patrick’s Day. This belief dates back to when St. Patrick used the shamrock to explain the mystery of the Trinity. It is said he used the shamrock in his sermons to explain how the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit could be separate elements and exist in the same entity. Today, clover leaves are carried on clothing on St. Patrick’s Day.

legendary figure is the Leprechaun, a sort of Irish gnome, represented as a little old man. According to Irish legend, these creatures live in solitude and spend their time making shoes. It is said that these goblins hide gold treasures and if caught must reveal the secret of their treasure. But you should not lose sight of them because if they escape so also escapes the hope of getting the treasure. These Leprechauns are traditionally associated with St. Patrick’s Day in Ireland. These gnomes are an American invention and are recognized as St. Patrick’s Day symbols.

✤ So that the top doesn’t give way too soon, use lightweight bait, such as a crumpled piece of gold foil. Our hat, a recycled oatmeal container, is wrapped with green felt secured with double-sided tape. To make the trap, we cut a hole in the lid (see image), then cunningly concealed it with a circle of green felt that will give way when the leprechaun steps on it. ✤ Leprechauns love to break rules. ✤ Use a small mirror (4 or 5 inches wide) as a base. ✤ Cut the craft foam into a square with a circle in the center, portrait style. Then draw and cut out the shape of the hat and hair. ✤ Use glue to attach the pieces to the mirror as shown.

Cut out the puzzle pieces along the blue borders. Mix up the pieces and then assemble the puzzle on a flat surface.

Un bocado mágico que puede añadir colores a la tarde más gris de marzo. Ingredientes:

• Mezcla de pastel blanco (una caja de 18-1/4-onzas) • Colorantes de comidas (rojo, azul, verde y amarillo) • Tazas de hornear • Crema batida (opcional)

GOTAS DE COLORANTE DE COMIDAS Violeta 9 gotas rojas y 6 azules Azul 12 gotas Verde 12 gotas Amarillo 12 gotas Anaranjado 12 gotas amarillas y 4 rojas Rojo 18 gotas

Preparación

1.

Prepara tu mezcla favorita de pastel blanco, y luego divide la masa en forma pareja entre seis pequeños cuencos. Siguiendo la tabla de abajo, tiñe cada plato de pasta con un color del arcoíris.

Music is often associated with St. Patrick’s Day—and Irish culture in general. From ancient days of the Celts, music has always been an important part of Irish life.

St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, is one of Christianity’s most widely known figures. But for all his celebrity, his life remains somewhat of a mystery.

The Leprechaun

The original Irish name for these figures of folklore is “lobaircin,” meaning “smallbodied fellow.” Belief in leprechauns probably stems from Celtic belief in fairies, tiny men and women who could use their magical powers to serve good or evil. In Celtic folktales, leprechauns were cranky souls, responsible for mending the shoes of the other fairies.

Leprechauns had nothing to do with St. Patrick or the celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, a Catholic holy day. In 1959, Walt Disney released a film called Darby O’Gill & the Little People, which introduced America to a very different sort of leprechaun than the cantankerous little man of Irish folklore. This cheerful, friendly leprechaun is a purely American invention, but has quickly evolved into an easily recognizable symbol of both St. Patrick’s Day and Ireland in general.

¿Qué son las marcas de nacimiento?

Las marcas de nacimiento deben su nombre al simple motivo de que ¡están presentes en la piel de muchos bebés recién nacidos! A un bebé le pueden salir marcas de nacimiento antes de nacer o al poco tiempo del nacimiento. Uno de los tipos más frecuentes de marca de nacimiento es el hemangioma. Estas marcas de nacimiento ocurren cuando muchos vasos sanguíneos se agrupan en un área de la piel. Los vasos sanguíneos son unos tubitos diminutos que transportan sangre por el cuerpo. Nadie sabe cuál es la causa de que se agrupen los vasos sanguíneos, pero tranquiliza saber que la mayoría de marcas de nacimiento no duelen en absoluto y habitualmente no son un signo de alguna enfermedad. Muchos recién nacidos tienen este tipo de marcas en la parte posterior del cuello (donde se llaman hemangioma plano o “picotazo de cigüeña”) o entre las cejas (donde se denominan “besos de ángel”).
