Jamaica has an area of 11,424 square kilometers. The island is 235 km long with widths varying between 35 km. Jamaica is very montainous country. Jamaica has about 120 rivers. Jamaica is blessed with several mineral springs.

CLIMATE The annual average temperature is 27ºC. The hottest months are the in the summer and the winter months (december to march) are appreciadly cooler.

1. HISTORY The history of Jamaica was forged during the heyday of Western imperialism. The conquests, sugar and slavery made the island the richest colony in Britain, while internal resistance helped to shape a national identity that led to reform and the path to independence. Passion and perseverance still make many Jamaicans work for a more prosperous future.

3. Wildlife In Jamaica, there are many species of birds: pelicans, owls, parrots, etc. It has found many butterflies in which is the Macaón which is one of the largest in the world. There are also guinea pigs. There are numerous lizards such as the iguana and the impressive American crocodile, there are also aquatic fauna with more than 700 species of fish such as parrotfish and manatees.

The most typical food in Jamaica is the Chicken Jerk, Acker and salt fish, The Jamaiquino patty, the callaloo, the cocaliche, rice and green pears, the bananas guizzadas and blue mountains coffee.
