A network layout with different applications in industrial networks for a manufacturing process

Instructions. 1. This evidence will be elaborated in teams; it will be developed inside a company (neither a small office nor a small business unit) where you can find information regarding network and manufacturing processes. 2. Find information regarding the manufacturing processes of the company. 3. Identify, in that company, the areas where a connection with fieldbuses can be installed. 4. Identify the areas where they already have installed fieldbuses. 5. Describe some of the control applications performed through the fieldbuses. 6. Identify all the devices, of different manufacturers, that are integrated in a communication system. 7. Locate the areas of the manufacturing process where the conventional cabling can be replaced by a fieldbus; specify this information through a diagram. 8. Draw a layout of the network design you are proposing and share it with the IT department staff of the company. Consider their comments to include the appropriate improvements in the layout. 9. Submit an improvement proposal for the existing system including the design in detail, advantages and limiting factors,

Results.

In this evidence, we were initially asked to go to a company to investigate its manufacturing processes, but since it is very difficult to get a company to allow an unknown person to enter its facilities and know all its systems, the decision was made to make it about Tecmilenio and its systems

It was investigated that types of connections used tecmilenio based on the evidence required, we were informed that only the types of Profibus and Profinet connections were used, which are exemplified by green and purple cables throughout the entire system from the manufacturing laboratory, then photographs of where these cables are located

The fieldbus infrastructure constitutes the backbone of your automation system. Design rules apply analogous to any electrical installation. The following engineering criteria are important for reliability and cost-effectiveness:  

Function and availability: Choices such as redundancy or protection from short-circuits, power surges, or water ingress Fieldbus in hazardous areas: Methods of ignition protection typical for fieldbus installations in Zones and Divisions

Fieldbus applications are based on establishing communications between different connection points of a system. The communications mainly focus on going from the Profibus to the Logic Program controllers, from there leaving for the Connection Store to finalize in the Z Axis Drivers

Conclusion.

An effective communication system that adapts to the characteristics of each company is essential to improve productivity, as it allows better control of processes, monitoring of the various production lines, and better coordination between processes, to Having the possibility of knowing the status of each of the machinery from the same site and, on some occasions, it also allows the solution to a problem that they present
