FERAN ICS

COMPOSITION

Preparation of carboxylic acid esters, non-ionic

USES

Highly wash-resistant hydrophilic finishing agent and soil-release product for pad or exhaust applications on wovens, nonwovens or knit goods from synthetic fibres, especially PES fibres or their blends with cellulosic fibres. Confers a supple, soft and cool handle (micro touch effect) to the substrate.

PROPERTIES

- Confers highly wash-resistant hydrophilic properties, absorptive power and soil-release effects - Pigment and fat-containing soil can be easily washed off - Improves the antistatic properties of synthetic textiles - Confers a supple handle (micro touch effect) - Improves the wearability - Suitable for coloured and white goods - Intensification of colour when used in printing pastes (disperse dyestuff) - Product can be easily handled - Excellently suitable for pad or exhaust application ® - Registered on the bluesign list - Suitable for WEKO liquid application system (WFA), with 0.1 g/l RUSTOL ESD

APPLICATION

FERAN ICS can be applied by either the exhaust or the pad process. An optimum efficiency of FERAN ICS can only be achieved if the textile to be finished is free of water-repellent residual substances, which can often be found as preparations on elastomeric fibres. The product should not be combined with softening agents with water-repellent effects. The dyeing process, too, may adversely affect the finishing results. The dyestuff selection plays a decisive role. In case of fastness problems with migrating dyestuffs, the exhaust process is to be preferred.

For optimum wash-resistant hydrophilic properties FERAN ICS can be directly applied to the dye bath of PES disperse dyeings before the actual final finishing by the exhaust or pad process. in the disperse printing pastes on PES material, the dye yield can be significantly increased. The amount of dyestuff required for each individual shade can be significantly reduced. We recommend preliminary trials regarding compatibility with other printing paste components. Remark to finishing for optically brightened goods In the case of optically brightened cellulose or in combination with cellulose brighteners, the optical brightener is blocked and the whiteness is reduced. In the case of PES FERAN ICS should not be simultaneously applied with optical brighteners, but in a separate process. Otherwise the optical brightener is blocked and the degree of whiteness is reduced. When finishing white goods ensure that the fabric pH is 5.0 – 5.5 after finishing. The fabric pH has to be adjusted with a non-volatile acid (e. g. citric acid) or alternatively with RUCOACID ABS.

INFORMATION ON SPRAYING APPLICATION During the spraying of textile auxiliaries aerosols arise. They may be a potential danger for man. Therefore spray in closed installations only, or else discharge optimally and provide for good room ventilation to avoid spreading of the aerosols in the work environment. Do not breathe in aerosols!

STORAGE

If stored below 0° C or above 40° C, the product may solidify and/or change its consistency. After heating or cooling to 20° - 25° C and thorough mixing, the product can be used again without any problems.

ATTENTION

The above recommendations are based on comprehensive studies and experience made in practical finishing. They are, however, without liability regarding property rights of third parties and foreign laws. The user should test for himself whether the product and the application are suited for his very special purposes. We are, above all, not liable for fields and methods of application which have not been put down by us in writing. Advice for marking regulations and protective measures can be taken from the respective safety data sheet.
