* Please type or print clearly within 1 page using black ink. (in Korean or in English) (*10 points) o Your course of life, your view of life, study background, your hopes & wishes, etc o Your education and work experience, etc., in relation to the KGSP program o Your motivations for applying for this program o Reason for study in Korea
I am a fifth‐year student in civil engineering department of Institute of Technology of Cambodia and will have to defend my dissertation in early July. Recently, I am doing research for the company where I am doing internship on how to use light gauge C steel instead of hot‐roll steel to make the truss lighter and more environmental, in the meantime, benefit the company since in Cambodia, this type of roof has not been used yet. Besides my interest in science and technology, the environment causes me to concern in environmental problem as well. And it is this concern that makes me want to continue my study in Korea to gain more conceptions on how to help the environment in term of an engineer because of the reputation of green technology of this country. However, just like many other families in Cambodia, money is always the obstacle and outside help is the only solution, which is scholarship in my case. Moreover, last year, I have an opportunity to express my idea about the solution to the environmental problem through “AAET engineering science, technology and innovation (ESTI) essay competition for ASEAN young talents” on the topic “working together towards a low carbon society for ASEAN”. To complete that essay, I spend 3 months doing research for many different technologies and solution that may work, doing the selection, comparison, and combination using my own thought, and writing the 14 pages essay. After submission, my essay is selected as 1 of 3 essays representing Cambodia in the competition. The combination of my curiosity in science, technology, and environment gives me a goal of using my knowledge in civil engineering to help this world greener and to help reduce the pollution caused by infrastructure. In addition, I desire to improve my knowledge to be able to solve my concerned problem and to make those solutions come into life be cause engineering is not only a theoretical science after all. In conclusion, I am just an engineer who has so much apprehension in environment, strong desire in improving my understanding, and most important of all, find solution the problem I am worried about.

(Study Plan)
* Please type or print clearly within 1 page using black ink. (*10 points) Goal of study & Study Plan
o Goal of study, title or subject of research, and detailed study plan
By Applying for KGSP, the only goal I have in mind is the desire for more advance knowledge related to my study field to gain the ability to do research in the subject on” how to make the civil engineering field more environmental”. To achieve such goal when I am offered the scholarship, I will have to discuss in more detail with the professor in charge to find out the specific subject that I could work on and that could help the world to get greener or at least making civil engineering field less polluting by using our knowledge in civil engineering. In the meantime, through the course provided I expect to improve my understanding in this field, which will be used to assist in my research and future plan. All in all, I have no doubt in what I am going to do and that I will be able to complete my goal.
Future Plan after Study
o Future plan in Korea or another country after study in Korea
My plan in the future is down‐to‐earth: continue to improve my knowledge and to find solutions to the problem I concern. After my study in Korea, I wish to continue to get a PHD there if available since I always want to improve my comprehension in this field and hope to contribute more to the society and scientific field as well. Moreover, it is doesn’t matter if I will become an engineer, lecturer, or researcher, putting the solution I found in practice is what I would like to do both in Korea and in my country as well as other place in the world. Overall, improve my understanding and look for solution to the environmental problem using the knowledge I have is my plan in future.
