Illusion Plans Courtesy of James P. Riser Custom Magic GIRL THROUGH GLASS

The magician displays a large wooden frame containing a sheet of transparent plexiglass. His assistant stands on the little raised platform behind the frame. One of the screens is placed around and behind the girl, who can still be seen through the plexiglass. The second screen is placed on the other little platform. It is immediately removed and the girl —184—

is now on the front side of the plexiglass. She apparently passed right through it! WORKINGS The plexiglass is free to slide up in the frame. The two counter balances make it easy for the girl to lift it. The section of plexiglass visible below the little platform remains stationary: When the illusionist places

the second screen "on the platform, the girl immediately goes to work. She squats down, lifts the plexiglass, crawls through the secret opening, quietly lowers the plexiglass, stands up, and waits for the magician to remove the screen now in front of her. To the audience it appears that she magically penetrated the solid plexiglass. GENII, The Conjurors' Magazine
