The International Guitar Festival Rust was initiated by Gabriel Guillén in 1999. The Festival has become one of the most significant guitar festivals in Europe. It takes places in one of the most beautiful landscapes of Austria, on a Neusiedler See beach. This part of the country is called "Pannonia", a scenery that has always influenced artists of all kinds: painting, sculpture, music, literature. The John Duarte Guitar Competition leaded by art director Jovan Pesec which takes place within the festival is one of the most important guitar competitions of the world.
