Valentine Minis – the set of toys from the “AradiyaToys Minis” collection dedicated to Valentine's Day. These toys are perfect as Valentine's Day decorations. If you use the above-mentioned yarns and a 2.00 mm (US: B, UK: 14) hook, you get a 11-cm-tall (4.3-inches-tall) Mr Cupid, a 13-cm-tall (5.1-inches-tall) Mrs Chocolate Bar, 9.5-cm-tall (3.7-inches-tall) Mr Teddy Bear and Mrs Perfume. The stuffing material used in these toys is polyester wadding. This pattern is for personal use only. Sharing information from this pattern is prohibited. Useful tips • All amigurumi toys are crocheted with tight stitches. Avoid small holes when stretching the crochet fabric. If there are any holes through which stuffing material can be seen, use a smaller size hook. • To avoid seams, all details are crocheted in a spiral without slip stitch and lifting loops. • There is a chance that you will lose the beginning of the round; to avoid this, use a marker. It can be a colored pin or thread of contrasting color. Pin the marker to the last loop of the round. Every new round must be finished with a loop with the marker in it. • Stuff details of your amigurumi as you go. It is very hard to stuff the detail evenly when it is almost finished. • Always change the color of yarn at the last step of the last stitch of the previous color.

To do so, insert the hook as shown on image 5, take sand yarn (Image 6), pull up a loop (Image 7), make 1ch (Image 8) and crochet 1sc into the same front loop in which we inserted the hook (Image 9). Hold the body upside down and connect gold yarn to the remaining front loop of the first stitch of the 10th round, as we did before on page 6. Crochet: 15 rnd (5sc, inc) repeat 6 times (42) Cut the yarn and finish the round in an invisible way. To make this: pull the end of yarn through the last stitch completely (Image 22), thread the end of yarn into the needle, skip one stitch and guide the yarn into the next stitch as shown on image 23. Insert the needle back in the same hole where the yarn comes from (Image 24). Fasten the obtained stitch (Images 25 and 26) and weave in the end of yarn (Image 27).

Mr Cupid – Hair Insert the hook into the front loop of the second stitch (Image 33), yarn over, pull the yarn through this front loop (Image 34) and through the one loop in your hook in one go (Image 35). The first sc is ready. Crochet slip stitches (slst) until you reach the end of the round (Image 36). Crochet one more slst into the first front loop of the round in which we connected the yarn (Image 37) and finish the round in the same invisible way as described on page 9. Weave in all ends (Image 38).

Mr Cupid – Curls To crochet the curls, turn the hair so that the golden round is facing downward. Find the first remaining front loop of the 16th round, and insert the hook as shown on Image 39. Connect yellow yarn, yarn over (Image 40) and pull up a loop (Image 41). Crochet: [3ch, start in the second stitch from the hook: 2sc into the chain of ch’s, 1sc into the next 5 front loops of the hair (Image 43)] repeat into all front loops to the end of the 16th round.

Mr Cupid – Curls When you reach the end of the 16th round, skip all front loops of the 15th and 14th rounds, crochet sc in the first front loop of the 13th round (Image 45). Crochet: [3ch, start in the second stitch from the hook: 2sc into the chain of ch’s, 1sc into the next 5 front loops of the hair] repeat into all front loops to the end of the 13th round. Skip two rounds again and move to the 10th round. Continue to crochet curls in spiral, skipping all even rounds, until you crochet the last front loop on the top. Weave in the end of yarn of these last curl on the inner side of the hair, using a needle (Images 49 and 50). Don't forget to weave in the end of yarn sticking out from where you started crocheting the curls.

Mr Cupid – Assembly Place the arms symmetrically on the sides of the body and fasten them with pins (Image 71). Sew the arms with the ends of sand yarn, using the stitches on the 1st round of the body (Image 72). Тhread gold yarn into the needle and guide it right under the remaining loop from the 10th round, on the back (Image73). Embroider the body, making backstitches all around (Image 75). Close the circle with an inclined stitch (Image 74). Fasten and weave in the end of yarn.

Mr Cupid – Assembly

Put the hair on the head so that the closing stitch of the last round is placed on the back center of the head. The back side of the hair should be placed a little lower than the front side (Image 76). Choose a place for the wings on the back and fasten them with pins. Sew the wings along the dotted line that is shown on Image 77 with the end of milky white yarn. Place the halo on the head and sew its back side to one curl (Image 79). You don’t have to sew the halo to the side of the head, it will look great even on the center of the head. To make Mr Cupid look more cute, you can embroider cheek blushes under his eyes (Image 80).
