TURCK Switching Amplifiers

The MK13-UNF-Ex0/24VDC and MK13-UPF-Ex0/24VDC are single channel switching amplifiers with intrinsically safe input circuits. They are used to isolate and transfer discrete signals from a hazardous location to a non-hazardous location. Inputs are typically NAMUR sensors or dry contacts, although devices providing a variable resistance conforming to DIN 19234 may be used - e.g. variable resistors, thermistors, etc. PNP NPN

- MK13-UPF-Ex0/24VDC - MK13-UNF-Ex0/24VDC

Each provide two short-circuit protected transistor outputs. A three-position switch on the front cover selects the output mode. Positions “A”, “R” and “V” represent direct mode (N.O.), inverse mode (N.C.) and complementary mode, respectively. The output mode is dependent on the input device. Refer to Truth Table. In positions “A” and “R”, output 1A follows the input signal, while the Alarm/1B output provides indication of faults in the input circuit. The Alarm/1B output remains energized during normal operation. In position “V”, the Alarm/1B output provides an output complementary to output 1A. No alarm indication is provided in position “V”. The input circuit is monitored for short-circuit and wire-break. If a fault in the input circuit occurs, both outputs are de-energized and the green LED is switched off.

MK13-UNF-Ex0/24VDC MK13-UPF-Ex0/24VDC

When dry contacts are the input device, the input circuit monitoring function must be turned off by jumpering terminals 3-4, or resistors must be added to the switch as shown in Contact Configuration. A yellow LED indicates switching status.

TURCK Switching Amplifiers

These devices are two-channel switching amplifiers with intrinsically safe input circuits. Inputs are typically NAMUR sensors or dry contacts, although devices providing a variable resistance conforming to DIN 19234 may be used - e.g. variable resistors, thermistors, etc. Each device provides one SPDT relay output per channel. When the output is energized, the 2-color switching status LED illuminates yellow. Six programming switches, three per channel, located on the front cover of each device enable selection of the output mode, as well as separate activation of wire-break and short-circuit monitoring. The switches labeled “A/R” select the output mode for each channel. Positions “A” and “R” represent direct mode (N.O.) and inverse mode (N.C.), respectively. The output function is dependent on the input device. See the truth table opposite for detailed output function. The switches labeled “DB” and “K” activate wire-break and short-circuit monitoring of the input circuit, respectively. When these switches are set to ON and the corresponding fault in the input circuit occurs, the respective output is de-energized and the 2-color switching status LED illuminates red. If dry contacts are the input devices, resistors must be connected to the contacts or the “DB” and “K” switches must be set to OFF. See the Contact Configuration specification for correct resistor installation. A green LED indicates “Power ON” status.

Isolating Switching Amplifier MK1-22Ex0-R 1 channels

TURCK Switching Amplifiers

The MK1-22UN-Ex0/24VDC, MK1-22UP-Ex0/24VDC, MK13-22UN-Ex0/24VDC, and MK13-22UP-Ex0/24VDC are dual-channel switching amplifiers with intrinsically safe input circuits. Each of the switching amplifiers provides one short-circuit protected transistor output for each channel. There are PNP output versions and NPN output versions: PNP NPN

- MK1-22UP-Ex0/24VDC, MK13-22UP-Ex0/24VDC - MK1-22UN-Ex0/24VDC, MK13-22UN-Ex0/24VDC

A two-position switch on the front cover selects the output mode for each of the devices. Positions “A” and “R” represent direct mode (N.O.) and inverse mode (N.C.), respectively. The output mode is dependent on the input device. Refer to Truth Table. The input circuits of the MK 13-22UN-Ex0/24VDC and MK13-22UP-Ex0/24VDC are monitored for short-circuit and wire-break. If a fault in the input circuit occurs, the respective output is de-energized and the switching status LED illuminates red. The input circuit monitoring cannot be disabled. If dry contacts are the input devices, resistors must be connected to the contacts. See Contact Configuration specification for correct resistor installation.

MK1-22UN-Ex0/24VDC MK1-22UP-Ex0/24VDC MK13-22UN-Ex0/24VDC MK13-22UP-Ex0/24VDC

MK1-22UN-Ex0/24VDC and MK1-22UP-Ex0/24VDC do not monitor the input circuit for short-circuit and wire-break. They are thus ideal for use with dry contacts, as it is not necessary to connect additional resistors. A green LED indicates “Power ON” status.

TURCK Switching Amplifiers

The MK1-2RP/24VDC and MK1-2AP/24VDC are dual channel switching amplifiers with input circuits according to DIN 19x234. They can be used with sensors conforming to DIN 19x234 (NAMUR) or mechanical contacts. The couplers provide one PNP, short-circuit protected transistor output per channel. The input circuits are not self-monitored. The MK1-2AP/24VDC provides two normally open outputs. The MK1-2RP/24VDC provides two normally closed outputs.

TURCK Switching Amplifiers

These devices are two-channel switching amplifiers with intrinsically safe input circuits. Each device provides one potential-free transistor output per channel.

2

The MK15-12Ex0-PN/... is a single channel type special switching amplifier, particularly suited for transfer of high pulse frequencies (e. g. when used in scanning turbine rotation). They can be connected to sensors according to EN 60947-5-6 (NAMUR), variable resistors or potential-free contacts. The device is equipped with one shortcircuit protected pnp transistor output and one short-circuit protected npn output transistor. Three front panel programming switches set the channel function (normally open mode (NO) and normally closed (NC) mode), pulse expansion and the selection of pulse processing for the input signal (static or dynamic).

–3

If pulse expansion is active, the output pulse is extended by 10 ms. With static pulse processing, the NAMUR switching thresholds are scanned in a range of 0...5 kHz. Dynamic pulse processing is to be used with sine and square wave input signals whose absolute value switching thresholds do not correspond to the NAMUR standard. A signal deviation (current change) of approx. 0.5 mA in an operating range of 1.5...3.5 mA switches the output. The green LED on the front cover indicates that the devices are powered. The yellow LED indicates the switching status of the output (LED on – transistor conducting).
