Everyone is conditioned in life. There is no escape from that. There is no shield to protect you. From the moment we are born, we are taking in the aura of our parents, our siblings, and our relatives. Later the conditioning comes from friends, teachers, lovers, spouses, children and colleagues. Your strategy allows you to let go of deciding things based upon this conditioning. It frees you from allowing others to make decisions for you. Without understanding Type, we are always trying to get people to be more like us. To do things the way we would do them and on and on. When we know what Type we are, we can become who we were born to be before all the conditioning happened. When we do not move in life according to the strategy of our type, our behavior creates friction or resistance with those around us. Over time this wears us down. We start to feel that life is difficult. Living your type is all you need to find peace in yourself and to find your place in the world. Type is the most important aspect in Human Design. If you know your type, you can start the process of finding your own nature by following your strategy. Following your strategy is the tool that brings you to accepting yourself and living who you really are. Living your type is the only way to fulfill your purpose in life. Type is like being given a user's manual that allows you to live who you were born to be.

Strategy of type is the Key that Unlocks the Door to a Life You Never Dreamed as Possible There are more than 5 billion people on the planet. Yet in Human Design there are only four types. Type is the most important aspect in the Human Design System, for it is through type that a specific strategy is given as a tool for experimentation. It is through strategy that a person can know how to make correct decisions in life. Your strategy allows you to get in touch at a very deep level with what is right for you in any situation in your life. Often when people hear that, they freeze in horror as if they are going to become exactly like all the other people who have the same type. Nothing could be further from the truth. As each person experiments with their strategy, they get to see how unique they really are. They become original and authentic. Comparison to anyone else is impossible. 4

All you need to do is experiment with living your strategy. Don't believe this. And don't make it a serious experiment. Be relaxed in it and enjoy the discovery of who you really are. Experiment with the strategy - just follow its rules as you would with any game. Maybe you want to experiment for a day or a week or even an hour the first time. You need to test it for yourself. See what happens as a Manifestor if you inform those you will impact, before you do something. See how it is as a Generator if you stop initiating and wait for something to respond to. See what it feels like to be a Reflector and to actually give yourself all the time you need before making a decision. See what happens as a Projector when you stop trying to be an energy person and wait for something delicious to be invited to. You test it for yourself and you find out if it is valid. Human Design is a logical system. Type has been substantiated in clinical tests. People all over the world have validated it experientially. See for yourself if living your strategy brings you a healthier and more relaxed life. See if you experience a sense of relief just from reading about your type. See if living your strategy can end the suffering in your life. Understanding your type and living its strategy can transform your life. Don't believe this. Discover for yourself if it is true or not. 5

EMOTIONAL DEFINITION Very Important

If you have this center colored in your chart you are an emotional being. The secret to living a healthy life if you are emotional is to never be spontaneous. If you have this center colored in your chart, you must take time for each decision you make. You must "sleep on things." Whatever Type you are and whatever your strategy is, this is an added aspect to your strategy.

MANIFESTOR Will I be answered? one of the three motors indicated below has to get to the throat in one continual connection

If you are an emotional Manifestor, you must sleep on things before you decide what you are going to do. If you are an emotional Generator, you need to respond a number of times to the same thing, so that you get clarity before you give your final "yes" or "no". For an emotional Projector, you must be invited to the same thing at least twice so that you can see if it continues to feel right to you as you move through your wave. There is no such thing as an emotional Reflector. This added dimension to your strategy is very important. Emotional people have a depth that takes time to get to. That is why they must wait. As they wait, their emotions move up and down - from the high to the low - to the depth of who they are. If you are an emotional person, for your strategy to work successfully for you, you must give yourself time. You can read more about the Solar Plexus center in the 9 Centers KISS Booklet.

The Throat Center is the center of action and manifestation. Without the energy of one of the above motors (the Heart Center, the Solar Plexus Center and/or the Root Center) hooked up directly to the throat, manifestation cannot happen. This connection can pass through other centers that are not motors - but must make it all the way to the throat. It is a bit like a maze, when you look at a chart. Follow the path of the motor. If it gets all the way to the throat, you have a Manifestor. Always remember that a Manifestor can never have a defined sacral center. It is the motor connected to the throat that gives the Manifestor the power to do what it says it will do. No other type can know for sure when it says "I am going to do this "whether it actually has the power to do it. The other types need to wait for something to bring about action, either something to respond to or an invitation. All other types are conditioned to be a manifes-

tor. All other types dream of being a manifestor. But to actually be a real manifestor can be more like a nightmare than a dream. Manifestors are pure energy beings. They are the only type that can act without waiting. They are not here to be controlled by anyone. They meet more resistance in life than any other type. Because of this they can often feel very cut off from people. Manifestors are the only true initiators. As children, this group has been the most severely punished. They often become very repressed and subdued as adults because of being punished so much or they become full of rage and very angry. Manifestor children need to be taught to be polite. This will assist them in not getting punished. Manifestors who do not inform before they act suffer deeply. They don't have good relationships, they don't have good sex, they don't have good jobs and they don't have a good life. On top of that, they are full of anger. Informing is the only way out for the Manifestor. You are a Manifestor

There are actually two types of Manifestors: the ones that have been punished so severely as children that they are afraid to let their power out. These are collapsed Manifestors. If you are a collapsed Manifestor, start to experiment with informing before you do something. Don't ask permission! Asking permission is only the strategy for children. As an adult Manifestor it is no longer about asking permission, but you may have adopted this as the only way to survive. Take small steps and begin to explore the power you were born with. Think of what you want to do. Think of who it may impact. Resist asking those people if it is OK with them. Experiment with informing them instead. Dare to be the manifestor you were born to be. The other types need you. No one else can be a manifestor - only you! The other type of Manifestor is one who has not collapsed but who is full of anger because everyone has tried to control them from the moment they could walk. You don't trust because you know that you have gotten punished your whole life for just being who you are. You hate to be told by anyone what to do, how to act, or how to be. You are not here to be controlled by anyone. It has not been an easy life because people are always telling you 'do this' or 'do that'. This really makes you angry. You can get things done independently. You don't need other people to get things done. You don't need any help! This is very difficult for others to accept or understand. All other types need some kind of interaction with another before they can do things. You don't. This upsets people endlessly. 8

People do not like those that are independent and uncontrollable. You are unpredictable because no one knows what you are going to do next. This makes others nervous. The only way you can protect yourself from others trying to stop you or control you, is to inform others before you act. You are not crazy about the idea of informing. But it is truly the only way you will be able to act and do things without meeting resistance. Meeting resistance wears on the spirit. You are an energy being and always have the energy to initiate and get things done. But your spirit has suffered from all that resistance. The message you've gotten from others your whole life is that it is not OK to be you. By informing others, you can bring your spirit back. Get your mind involved and it will help you. Think of what you want to do and then think of the people your action will impact. Inform those people. You will see that resistance starts to disappear in your life. Others will feel more at ease with your unpredictability because they know you will tell them if your actions are going to impact them. They still may not like it, but they won't try to stop you. By informing, you will find peace. You are the only true doer in society and yet you are not here to be a workhorse. You have no sacral center and you can often be overwhelmed by the sacral energy. Rest is the most important thing for you to remember. Because of your open sacral and because you are an energy type, you can be conditioned to work twice as much as a Generator. This is deeply unhealthy for you. It is healthy for you to go to bed at night before you are tired. Watch TV, read a book, anything - but rest in bed until you fall asleep. Because you can do, people think you are in charge. You are not. Life still runs the show. But this misconception can have people getting really upset with you because they want you to go do something about a situation or a problem. You cannot. You are not in control of your life. You are simply not here to be controlled by another person. There is a difference. Yet other people cannot easily see that. They only see your manifesting power and that you don't need them. They don't see that you are as helpless as every other human being and that the same universal laws govern you as every one else. Interaction with Manifestors If you have a manifestor in your life, you will know it because you will feel like you are always being run over by a steamroller. Most manifestors are angry creatures because everyone is always trying to control them and tell them what to do. When you interact with Manifestors, you can stop trying

to control them. You can stop telling them what to do. You can leave them alone. These are the only things that will not meet with resistance.

GENERATOR

Will I be asked?

All other types must wait for the manifestor to initiate. If you initiate with a manifestor, you are going to experience hitting an aura that feels like a brick wall. You cannot initiate with a manifestor. It doesn't work. They are the only true initiators. All the other types have been conditioned to be manifestors. They are pretend manifestors. Even manifesting generators are not real manifestors, they are a generator with manifesting capabilities. They are not pure manifestors. If you are a Generator, a Manifesting Generator, a Projector or a Reflector, the only thing you can do is wait. You must wait for the manifestor to initiate. Then according to the strategy of your type, you can be involved or not in what the manifestor is doing. This interaction is natural, since waiting is the strategy for you and the other types. If you are a Manifestor, then either one can initiate with the other at any time.

The sacral center is colored in your chart. It is connected to at least one other center. A Generator can actually have all nine centers defined.

Just understanding what a manifestor is and how a manifestor operates will already be helpful. You will know that the actions of the manifestor are not personal. And the manifestors in your life will feel the difference when they are around you. You will not be in the old patterns of trying to control them or telling them what to do. Just stopping this, is enough to change the whole dynamic of your interaction with manifestors.

A Generator is anyone who has the Sacral Center defined whether that is a pure generator or a manifesting generator. If the red square box is colored in your chart, you are a Generator. It doesn't matter what is connected to it. It doesn't matter if you have every other center defined. You are always a Generator. The sacral center is a response mechanism. To live a healthy life, a Generator must wait to respond. The way a Generator responds is not by speaking in language. Generators make non-verbal sounds: grunts, groans, moans, growls and so forth. These sounds can appear very uncivilized and often as children, parents tell them to be polite and use proper language. This cuts the person off from the very source of their tremendous inner power and they begin to live further and further away from who they really are. Generators suffer the most from not living who they are. They do not have 10

a clue who they really are underneath all those years of using polite words that are acceptable rather than using sacral sounds: the deepest expression that they have in response to any situation. Cut off from this, they are initiating all the time telling others what they are going to do, who they love, what they are going to change, what job they are going to get and on and on. They live a pretend life - because they act like manifestors. Generators are energy beings and have been conditioned to really believe that they are manifestors. Generators should never initiate. It is simply not correct for them. If they go towards things, if they begin something, they never give their sacral center a chance to respond. A generator cannot know anything that is true about themselves unless they can hear their response. The rest is a lie. The sacral center is also a motor. It can be used as a source of power. But without responding first, it is a bit like putting the engine of a Mercedes Benz into a lawn mower. It works but what a waste of precious power. All of this takes a toll on their spirit and is deeply exhausting. Generators are the most frustrated people on the planet. Manifesting Generators are not only frustrated but also have the anger of the Manifestor. Neither were born to be frustrated. They were born to be responsive human beings who can build things for humanity. Manifesting Generators jump quickly after their response and move fast because of their manifesting capacity. Pure Generators are slower. You are a Generator

If you are a Generator you know what it is like to feel stuck in life and the frustration of not knowing how to change that. You are an incredible source of energy and everyone is always trying to get you to do what he or she wants you to do. You become a great workhorse and a slave. You never know if what you are doing is really what you should be doing. You have gotten involved in so many wrong things in this life and you just end up getting more and more frustrated. You feel dissatisfied and it is very easy for you to just quit with the hope that maybe the next thing will be better. You act like a manifestor and initiate and start things. You can get things done but it never really feels fulfilling. You are always wondering 'what is my purpose in life?' You just keep moving yet you have no idea where you are really going in life. The hardest thing you will ever do in your life is to stop initiating. You are an energy being. To stop acting like a manifestor may feel like you are dying. You are not. What is happening when you stop initiating and stop offering yourself to projects and jobs and family, is that for the very first time your energy begins to accumulate inside of you. Usu12

ally you are running here and there and you don't even know how exhausted you are. You have been endlessly dissipating your energy and you don't even know it. Once you stop initiating and simply wait for life to bring you something to respond to, you notice two things. First you notice how tired you really are. Second you notice that you have been throwing your precious life energy into so many things that were not really correct for you. Generators are the busiest people on the planet. But busy doing what? How many really are in correct jobs? Correct relationships? There is so much frustration on this planet from people hating what they do and who they are with. 70% of the population are Generators. And they keep quitting a marriage or a job and going to something else. But the very foundation is wrong to begin with. Generators who initiate will never find what is really right for them in this life. In spite of all this frustration, you actually have the easiest path to discovering who you really are. The strategy is more clear-cut than any other type and you have the instant feedback from hearing your sounds respond to everything in life. You respond to what you are eating "mmmmmmmmmm". You respond to the birds singing or a child laughing or the sun on your face. Generators are always responding. But it is not this part that is difficult. What is difficult is stopping the conditioned habit of initiating and moving towards things in life. That is really hard. It will feel like you have to give up everything and wait to see what comes. A generator, more than any other type, has to almost start from scratch. Nothing about living your strategy is going to be 'easy at first. It gets easier with time, until you cannot even remember who the person was who was acting like a manifestor all the time. Try some experiments. Next time you go to a party, or a family gathering or a business meeting - don't say anything. Just wait. Wait till there is something to respond to and then let your sacral sounds respond. See what that feels like inside of you. Do that for a while and then switch. Start talking and initiating conversation. Tell people what you think and what you feel and on and on. You may be surprised to see that no one really listens when you initiate the talking because your power is not speaking. Your words are empty. When you are responding, it is your power that is responding to what is happen13

ing and people really get that. Your sacral center is a very powerful, primal, raw force. The sacral voice is not civilized and does not conform to accepted modes of behavior that we have all been conditioned by. When you are responding to people and life, you are real and that is felt. When you are talking and acting without response, you are simply living the pre-conditioned modes of behavior that you were taught - whether you are aware of it or not.

But it is not easy. It is like a death as your pretend manifestor is retired without pay! But it is worth it as you really step into the power and alignment that has been waiting for you. After awhile, once you have gotten into the sacral voice, you can engage your mind to be part of your experiment. You can have someone you trust ask you a lot of questions about any topic you want. The questions need to be in a 'yes' or 'no' format - like on a true or false quiz.

The sacral center is a challenge - not just to you but also to others. When you start to respond - all the old ways of being with people fall away. In a sense you become more naked as yourself. Your sacral sounds are more honest and real. However, they are also very uncomfortable, not only for you, but for those people who are in your life.

The self-discovery that is possible in this kind of a session is incredible. And then your mind can be part of your experiment too. You are asked "would you like to learn Russian" and you respond "ahunh" (yes) and your mind says "I didn't know I wanted to learn Russian!"

When you respond, you either have an "ahunh" or an "unun" or an "I don't know". There is no more compromise in your life. You become more and more aligned with who you really are - not who you were brought up to be. It is not easy - even though it is the simplest and most straightforward avenue to self-discovery of all the types. You really don't know how you will respond. Your mind can think it knows, but is quickly shocked as it hears you going "unun" (no) to something it really wanted to do. Your mind can start throwing tantrums better than anyone you will ever meet. Even though these situations are difficult to pass through - they are deeply profound. Your mind can never understand, accept or explain why your sacral responds as it does. Now you have the opportunity to live your life according to your sacral response, and to observe where your mind would have taken you. The mind is the problem for all the types. The mind wants to run the show. When you think of the mind, think of how many thoughts run through your head every day - hundreds of them - telling you "do this" or "do that", "don't do this" or "don't do that". Most people allow their minds to run their life. All you have to do is look at the world and all the chaos everywhere to see the job that the mind has done! The mind was never meant to run the show. No other type has such a clear way to cut through the mind, as the generator has. The sacral responses cut through the mind like a Zen sword. Once you get the hang of responding and letting your sounds be freed inside of you from when you were a child, you will soon get the knack. It is simply that - a knack. Then you can't stop the sounds. It is such a refreshing and rewarding experience to let your sounds guide you in life and to let your sacral sounds make your decisions for you rather than your mind. 14

Don't get discouraged if you cannot seem to find your sacral sounds. Sometimes the beginning to uncovering these sounds is a body movement towards or away from what is coming towards you or being asked of you. Sometimes it is an energy burst. Just relax and play with it. Even initiate. Don't worry - you can learn more about resistance and how messed up your life can get by initiating than you ever can by waiting! Just watch what happens. This is an experiment after all. It is difficult for adults to decondition themselves. It is difficult for adults to uncover their sounds. This knowledge is really for children. Listen to children - they are always making sounds. It is natural for them: grunting, groaning and growling. Play with your sounds. Have someone ask you if you like to eat different foods. Easy questions to kick start the sacral sounds. Listen to yourself. Most people think they don't make sounds and yet they do! They just never paid attention. Most of all - don't feel guilty or bad because you can't stop initiating or you can't seem to make sounds in response. Human Design is about freeing the spirit in each person. Feeling guilty is what keeps the spirit a prisoner and trapped. Relax and just let be whatever is there. We are not in charge of it all anyway. It all unfolds as it unfolds. All we can do is simply be in the experiment. Interaction with Generators Never ask a Generator "how do you feel?" Never ask a Generator "what do you want to do?" A Generator has no answer to those kinds of questions and will flip around and flounder in trying to come up with an answer! Most likely they will say, "I don't know, what do you want to do?" Generators have no clue ever - what they want to do, who they want to be with, or where they want to go. That is the secret. If you have a generator 15

in your life (and chances are pretty good that you do, with over 70% of the population being one!) you can discover who they are right along with them discovering who they are. You can be someone very important in the life of a generator if you want to. Because it is through being asked questions in a correct way that their true responses can come out. If you want to go out to eat, you can simply say, "Do you want to go out to eat?" The generator will respond either 'ahunh' or 'unun'. "I don't know" is a valid answer too! Sometimes a generator simply does not know because no sound came in response.

Most people want what they think they should get, hope they will get or think they deserve. When you can let go of these ideas that were conditioned in you to begin with - what you end up getting is right for you and you feel that deeply. You have clicked into your rightful place in the universe. You - the person who is in the life of a generator - are so important to this generator. The Generator needs the other. It is exactly opposite to the manifestor in that sense. The Generator cannot even know who they are without a response to something being asked or said by another.

A person needs a bit of creativity when asking a Generator things - especially if you want to get the generator to do something. Don't take the first "unun" and think that is it. The generator has no clue why their sacral response goes 'unun'. Here is a little scenario and this is something that has played out many times in the lives of people who are experimenting with their strategy of waiting to respond. The partner asks: "Do you want to go to the movies?" The generator responds: "unun." (no) The partner says: "would you go to the movies with me?" The generator responds: "ahunh". (yes) 'Wanting to' and 'having it be OK to' are two very different things. Use words like "want", "need", "can", and "OK to" when asking the same question. Very often a generator does not want to do something but they need to do it. You are actually helping them discover who they are and what is correct for them. You are helping them discover their truth in this life. It is like peeling an onion - layer by layer to the core of what it is to be who they really are! If you are a Generator and your partner is a generator - you both can't just sit around waiting for godot. One of you can always initiate the process. But the rule is that the other person needs to ask you back about whatever you initiated so that you can hear your own response and know it is correct. These moments of being asked back have the potential to be really funny times. Let's say that you initiate something. "Do you want to go to the movies?" And your partner responds "ahunh" (yes). Then your partner asks you "do you?" and you hear yourself go "unun" (no)! This is very common. You see it is the mind that wants to do this or that and comes up with all these ideas about what to do, what to be, what to eat, whom to love. The sacral response is often entirely different. 16

PROJECTOR

Can I be noticed?

In order to be able to do their job they have to be recognized as who they are. Projectors will be seen everywhere they go, but often they are seen as who they are not. They get more recognition than any other type. But often because they are energy starved, they will even take energy that is not healthy for them. For many projectors, it is difficult to distinguish between a true and a false recognition. They end up with a life of bitterness and resentment because of not being seen for who they are, not being loved for who they are and not being respected or recognized for who they are. The key for the projector is that they have to wait for the words that indicate to them that they are really being seen! Projectors are drawing energy to them all the time. If a projector does not understand this, they can end up hoarding the energy rather than 'distributing it' or 'managing it'. Projectors are here to manage the energy of others but only when they have been invited to do so. Once they have been invited, they need to be aware to not try to control the energy but to guide its use. A tendency of projectors is to over-control. Projectors attract energy, materials and wealth of all kinds, but only if they are waiting. If they are trying to initiate to get energy or material, they will suffer endlessly and exhaust themselves. If a projector doesn't wait for the invitation, they end up feeling used. They have not been recognized and knowing this fills them with bitterness.

A Projector has no defined sacral. The other aspect that distinguishes a projector is that no motor is connected directly to the throat (a motor directly to the throat is a Manifestor.) They may have as many as eight centers colored in. The gift of a projector is to work with and guide the energy of others. They alone can understand both manifestors and generators. They are here to read the energy types, but not to be one themselves. If they try to act like an energy type, they suffer from exhaustion and burnout. They are not genetically equipped to use a lot of physical energy. Projectors do not lack anything because they are not an energy type. That is very important for everyone to understand. Projectors are great organizers and have the gift to bring people together. 18

Projectors may often feel very insecure and restless. They are deeply pessimistic that anyone is ever going to invite them or see anything of interest in them. So what usually happens is, they end up inviting others. What they do is they treat others the way they should be treated. This is not how it works. Projectors need to understand that their aura does the talking when they follow their strategy of waiting for an invitation. Being silent, it is their aura that brings the invitation to them. When a projector learns to trust this, many opportunities come their way. Waiting for the formal invitation is the only way a projector eliminates resistance in life and gets rid of their bitterness. This is how their life loses its sourness and becomes sweet. You are a Projector

You have a real talent for recognizing who gets things done. You can read the energy types. You do not lack anything because you are a non-energy type. That is so important to understand. The deepest conditioning has been done to you. You have always been under pressure to be an energy type. Projectors are not energy types and you have been more conditioned than any other type. This has been horrible for you. You are not here to be an 19

energy type - you are here to know what energy is and manage it. Others cannot understand it. They may think you are lazy and don't want to work. So there is a deep conditioning for you to be a Manifestor. For you to go out there and try to make things happen is deeply disturbing and exhausting. You are not here to initiate action. You are here to work with and guide the energy of others.

You are going to be taking the energy of the other person deeply into you. You are going to use that to do whatever it is that you are invited to do. It is a bit like putting fuel in your car. You have a Mercedes Benz or a BMW; you are not going to put any old fuel in that. You want to make sure it is the correct fuel for you. Your personal fulfillment and achievement has to do with having the right people in your life.

The only way that can happen correctly is for you to follow your strategy. Wait to be recognized. Wait for the invitations that are truly delicious. You have the most difficult time waiting and you will move the slowest in this experiment. There are no instant rewards. It will take all seven years of living the strategy of a projector to really experience the transformation. You will need all that time for the conditioning in your open centers to leave your body. You will need all that time for the conditioned pressure to manifest to finally go.

You hate to waste energy and you hate to see others waste energy. Without you, there is no balance between the Manifestors and Generators. If you initiate to guide or try to manage the energy of others, you will only meet resentment and resistance. You must wait to be invited, otherwise you never know if your talents and abilities are really wanted, and more importantly, if they are appreciated.

The most important thing to remember is that you are here to be recognized. You cannot demand that from others. What you can do is be watchful. Look to see who recognizes you and who doesn't. People often see in you what they want to see. But they do not really see you. Your essence (who you really are - what is defined in you) is not seen and this makes you bitter and resentful. Rather than feeling bad when people don't recognize you, see it as the unfolding process of who is to be in your life and who is not to be in your life. Let your mind get involved in the experiment. Let your mind be a snob. Let it watch and say to you with its imaginary nose stuck up in the air, "Oh look, they don't even see you!" As a projector, you cannot have anyone in your life that does not recognize you. Your gifts and your talents are set into motion by being recognized. You need to wait for THE SPECIAL invitations in life. You need to wait to be invited into relationships, into love, into marriage and into friendship. You cannot initiate these actions. If you do, you will never know if who you are with is truly the person for you or not.

Interaction with Projectors Projectors can be so exhausting to energy types if they are 'needy' of energy. Sometimes adult projectors who have not been recognized and are deeply bitter can suck your energy. You feel like you want to run away. When a projector is needy, it makes the other types very uncomfortable. When you are with a Projector who is not needy for your energy, who feels confident that they will get in life what they need, it is a whole different experience. You enjoy being with them and you feel that the energy is circulating rather than being controlled or hoarded. You do not feel exhausted or depleted. The pressure on people, who are not Projectors, to invite a projector is very strong. Auras are always talking - all the time - every minute of every day without us ever saying a word. The aura of a projector is always saying 'invite me'. Just like the aura of a generator is pulling people to it so that it can respond and the manifestor's aura is saying 'leave me alone'. So when you are with a projector, you will feel compelled to invite them. But it is not always healthy to do so. If you are correct in your own strategy that invitation will also be correct and will be mutually rewarding.

You need to wait to be invited into a career, or a job or work situation. You need to wait to be invited to move somewhere. You need to wait to be invited into a sexual experience. For all the important aspects of life, you need to wait to be invited.

The only type that can truly initiate with all the other types is the manifestor. So what do the other types do? For instance if a Generator is with a Projector and feels the pull to invite the Projector to be friends or to work together, the Generator does not know if it is correct for them because they are doing the initiating. Generators need to take the initiative with Projectors.

The way you know that it is the correct invitation is that you feel recognized for who you really are by the person inviting you. The other way you know if it is correct, is to check to see if it is a delicious invitation for you or not.

What the Projector needs to do is to honor the Generator. When a projector knows that it needs to be in the correct relationships both personal and

business and that they do not need to worry about their energy supply, they will feel very comfortable in checking back with the generator to make sure that it is correct for the generator too. A simple "is this something you really want me to do with you?" is all that is needed for the Generator to respond to in sounds. "Ahunh" and then it is correct for both parties (assuming that the Projector feels recognized by the invitation and also that it is a delicious invitation.) It is so important to understand the dynamics between types and how they enter into relationship with each other. In the beginning it can feel a little clumsy and very contrived. That is because it is going against what we have been conditioned to live out. But once you do it a few times, you realize how magically it all works and how easy it becomes. How deeply respectful life becomes when you live your strategy. You respect others in all interactions and at the same time your respect yourself by honoring your strategy. By honoring each other and yourself, you see that life really can work correctly. Inviting a projector into your life or to work with you is to give them access to your energy. If you are a Generator and invite a projector and do not hear your sacral response to know that it is correct for you - the chances of it working are not good. There will be resentment and frustration if it is not correct. It is so much better for both parties to always enter into any relationship correctly whether for business or personally. If you find that it is not correct to invite a projector who is in your life, realize that it is not personal and is simply not correct for you.

If you have a projector in your life and you have no invitation for them, do not feel guilty. It is not your fault and you shouldn't feel bad. It is simply the dynamics of the auras. We are not here to be with everyone or to have every one in our life. Because many projectors are starved for energy and bitter because they are not being recognized, it can become quite a trip if you don't invite them. No one owes anyone anything. The most we can do in any situation is live our strategy and be authentic in who we are. That is the gift we can give to each other - even if in the moment it does not seem like a gift. When you do invite a projector into your life and it is correct for them and for you, this experience is deeply rewarding. Projectors have skills that energy people have no clue about. They can manage things in a way that Manifestors and Generators could never achieve, because they are so busy running around with their energy! Projectors have much to offer. They are naturals at directing and guiding the energy of others and doing things efficiently because they are always aware of energy. But the secret to all of this is that all parties must enter into the relationship according to their strategy or there will be a lot of frustration, anger and bitterness! The key to life never changes. Live your strategy and you become correct in all your interactions and your life falls into place. A Reflector has only white centers in their chart. No center is colored in.

We as humans take things so personally. Living the strategy of your type helps to uncover the untruth of this. Being correct in ourselves has NOTHING to do with the other. When more and more people live who they are, rather than who they were conditioned to be, this sensitivity to rejection or denial or whatever falls away. Because you yourself see that by living who you are, it is never personal when you say "no" to someone. Because saying 'no' to someone is actually only saying 'yes' to yourself at another level. Slowly, you see that when others say 'no' to you - it is the same experience for them as it is for you. It is simply not correct and it is not personal. The freedom that comes from these kinds of relationships is more than human beings could have imagined.

No Centers Are Defined

You can become very wise, healthy and satisfied with life, if you understand your openness and how to work with it. Before making major decisions, you need to wait out the cycle of the moon (approximately 28 days). It is the movement of the moon that gives you access to your own inner wisdom. You, more than anyone else, needs to understand the movement of the moon and its impact on your design. As the moon moves, some or all of your centers in your 'white' chart get colored. During that waiting period, talk to people about what you are thinking of doing. Pay attention to what you say. It is not about having others tell you what to do. It is not healthy for you to rely solely on others. You want to be guided by what is inherent in your own design and what is inside of you. As the moon moves, different aspects of who you are come into play. As you talk about what you want to do, these aspects will come out. You will hear them. You are not seeking advice. Your talking to others is more so that you can collect your thoughts during the whole cycle. This feedback is an essential part of your process. Each conversation about the same thing will bring you a different perspective. These different perspectives are needed and are very important for you. After the 28 days, you will have clarity about what you were thinking of doing.

Reflectors are the rarest of all types. They have nothing fixed in their nature and nothing that they can rely on. When a person looks at the chart of a Reflector they think, "Oh my god, they are so open and vulnerable!" But this is not true. A Reflector is open but not weak. They are actually secure in their openness. You are a Reflector

To see that you are a Reflector will be a great relief to you. To see that you are totally open will resonate deeply inside of you. You already know that. You are here to experience wonder and awe. But because of taking in everything, you can often feel deeply disappointed. Reflectors can feel lost and overwhelmed by life. You process information slowly. Never let anyone make you 'hurry up'. Conditioning for you is unavoidable and natural. You are always at the mercy of the person you are in relationship with. It is so important to find the right forces to be with in your life! You have no definition and no inner authority. It is so important to be with people whom you trust. It is important that you do not get corrupted and/or manipulated in your openness. Because you are totally open and because there is no place inside where you can have a reliable 'yes' or 'no'. You have themes that you meet while waiting out your lunar cycle, but no 'place' that is reliable. The people in your life become very important to you. It is through your association with them that you build an aura around you. You are here to be open to the outer authority and to the conditioning of others, to take that in and to filter it. But don't filter that blindly. That is very important. You have inherent 25

themes inside of you and while waiting your 28+ days you get to meet 'yourself. It is through this waiting that you filter what has come into you. Everything passes through this lunar cycle. You get to meet yourself! You need to avoid negative contact as much as possible. You need to spend time alone regularly. This is the way you 'cleanse' your aura. Retreat and privacy are deeply important to you. Your hope is that the world becomes a better place to live. In time, when the world evolves, the Reflector will be the ultimate justice. They reflect everything around them and can read and judge more than anyone else what is going on. But for now, wait the 28-day lunar cycle and you will no longer be disappointed.

Interaction with Reflectors When you are with a Reflector, know that whatever you are seeing is yourself. You are always being reflected back. If you wonder, what is wrong with this person - look inside yourself because it is always you that you are seeing. If you want to know how your family is doing or how your business is doing or your community, all you need to do is look at the Reflector that is there in the midst of it all. The Reflector is always reflecting back what they are taking in. At the same time, there is a Reflector to discover. This can be very relieving to them. The greatest pain for a Reflector is that they think they are invisible. That no one sees them. You need to spend time with a Reflector. You cannot know them quickly. Each day you spend with them, you will discover different aspects that were not there the day before or even the week before. Don't be in a hurry. Don't try to push a Reflector into anything without first giving them the time of the lunar cycle.

In a way, a relationship with a Reflector is a bit like a narcissistic relationship because with a Reflector you get yourself back to you all the time. If you are unhappy, it is you, not the Reflector. If you are full of joy, it is you, not the Reflector. You are always being reflected back to yourself. The most precious gift that you can give to a Reflector is to live correctly. Live according to who you are. When you live who you are, the Reflector does not have to be disappointed , reflecting back a person who is disturbed, frustrated, bitter or angry. The Reflector can mirror back a "natural" human being. This is perhaps the Reflector's deepest hope for humanity: for each person to live who they really are. The nine centers are the foundation of the Human Design System. The name of each center as well as the basic themes for each center is indicated on the chart above. There are four motors: the Heart Center, the Solar Plexus Center, the Sacral Center and the Root Center. There are three awareness centers: the Splenic Center, the Ajna Center and the Solar Plexus Center. There are two pressure centers: the Head Center and the Root Center.
