Jake, our electricity bill is really high this month! Really? Why's that? Maybe because you leave the lights on all over the house? I'm home studying... I need the lights on. You don't need all the lights on in the kitchen and living room. Are you washing your favorite T-shirt on its own again? I'm going out tonight. And why is the heating on so high? I was cold! Did you try putting on a sweater? Sorry. Jake, how many times do I have to tell you how important it is to save energy? You're right. I am really sorry. Look, why don't you go and relax and I'll get dinner ready. OK, thanks. That sounds good. I think I'll take a long bath. Mum, don't baths waste water?

The next day, Jake's mother comes home from work. Jake is playing on the computer. The window is open. The heating is on high and all the lights are on in the room. Write the dialogue between Jake and his mother. When you have finished, check your dialogue for grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

Mother: How are you doing Jake? Aren’t you supposed to be studying? Jake: Yes Mom, I was studying before but I wanted some time to relax Mother: Mmm, I think you didn’t understand what I told you yesterday. Jake: What are you talking about, Mom?

Mother: The heating is on again and look at the window, it’s open. How many times I have to tell you the same thing? Jake: I’m Sorry Mom Mother: Do you think we are rich? The lights all over the house are on. Do you know how much I have to work to pay the bills? Jake: I said I’m sorry. I promise you it will never happen again Mother: I hope so otherwise you’ll have to work to pay the electricity bill.
