Medusa Scene 1 (Intro music plays) (Fight/Combat BG Music)

*Athena and Poseidon fighting* Athena:

What’s the matter, uncle? Feeling tired lately?

Poseidon:

Tired? There’s no such thing in my vocabulary. I think “tired” is what’s written all over your face.

Athena:

We’ll see about that.

(continues fighting) Poseidon:

*gets a glimpse of Medusa* Who is she?

Athena:

Argh! It doesn’t matter! Athens is mine! *hits Poseidon with her

sword* Poseidon:

*groans in pain* No! This is isn’t over, Athena. I will not stop until I am the patron God of Athens!

(exit Poseidon and Athena) (cue out music)

Scene 2 (cue in: Ambient Background music) Narrator 1:

In the ancient city of Greece, there was once a beautiful maiden called Medusa. Every man who had seen her fell heads over heels for her. But the dream of winning Medusa’s heart was impossible.

Narrator 2:

Medusa is a maiden of Athena, the goddess of war, is tied to a vow; she will never fall in love or have an affair.

Friend 1:

Medusa, there’s a letter for you. I wonder who is this from.

Friend 2:

Let’s see, let’s see! Who is it from? Tell me. Tell me!!!

Friend 3:

Oh gosh. Let Medusa read it first. It’s for her anyways.

Friend 4:

Yes, baby girls, please calm down. Let Medusa be the one to unravel that letter.

Medusa:

*Opening a letter, reading it then throws it away* UGH!

Friends:

So, what about it?

Medusa:

Just another guy asking for my attention. But, it doesn’t

matter anyway. Head Priestess:

Enough of the chitchat, ladies! We have so much work to do, and so little time left.

Friend 1:

Come quick! We’re running late.

Narrator 1:

Medusa and the other girls are walking towards Parthenon for preparation on the ritual prayer for Athena.

Head Priestess:

Bring the flowers and vases there. Everything has to be perfect!

(after the preparation) Head Priestess:

It is almost done, but there are still some things missing.. We must head to town to buy those:

Friend 2:

Are you not coming with us?

Medusa:

Go first, I’d like to recite some more prayers for her. I’ll be at the temple when you need me.

(exit Friends) Medusa:

O, Athena, I hope you can hear me. Forgive me for taking this long to praise reach out to you. It’s just that –

(enter Poseidon) Poseidon:

Hello, young lady.

Narrator 2:

As Medusa prayed, she didn’t realize that Poseidon, the God of the Seas, appeared beside her.

Medusa:

Are you P-P-P-

Poseidon:

Poseidon.

(Medusa leans to the side and faces Poseidon) Medusa:

Poseidon? Lord of the Seas? What are you doing here, in your niece’s temple?

Poseidon:

I’ve been meaning to talk to you.

Medusa:

Me? What for?

Poseidon:

If only I could talk to you somewhere a little bit more private.

Medusa:

What do you want, Poseidon?

Poseidon:

I…want you. I want you. You’re the most beautiful girl I’ve ever laid my eyes on. I WANT YOU! *grabs Medusa’s arms*

Medusa:

Let go of me! I would never--

Poseidon:

I am Poseidon! The ruler of the seas. You will obey every word I say. I get what I want. You are –

Medusa:

Medusa. I am Medusa, a priestess of the goddess, Athena. If you think that you can worm your way to my heart, you’re wrong.

Poseidon:

Impossible! I doubt that! Goddesses kneel before me and beg for my attention. You’re just a priestess and I’m sure you’re bound to do the same thing.

Medusa:

Nonsense!

Poseidon:

We’ll see about that.

(exit Medusa and Poseidon)

Scene 3 (Ambient BG Music) (enter Friends and Medusa)

Friend 1:

Medusa! Medusa!

Medusa:

Oh, what is it now, my friend? I am too preoccupied by distress at the moment, which I’m afraid disables me to talk to anybody else. (irritated)

Friend 2:

There’s something for you at the door.

Friend 3:

It came out of nowhere, from an unknown person.

Medusa:

Who might it be? There are lots of men in Athens, and I can’t quite point my finger to any of them.

Friend 4:

Yea, but I believe he is just perfect.

Friend 1:

P-philip?

Friend 2:

Andrew?

Medusa:

Jackson?

Friend 3:

Idiots! It’s from Paul!

Friend 1 & 2:

Paul? (confused)

Medusa:

Whoever gave this, asks me to come to the temple tomorrow night.

Friend 4:

You should go! It wouldn’t be too detrimental for you if you spare a short span of time to meet this lucky gentleman of yours.

Medusa:

What’s the point? I don’t even know his name. I could never trust this person.

Friend 3:

That is why you need to go, for you to know if that person is worthy of your attention and trust.

(exit)

Scene 4 Medusa at the temple Medusa:

(Sings “True Love’s Kiss” from Enchanted)

Poseidon:

*singing* You're the fairest maid I've ever met You were made…

Medusa:

To finish your duet…. *fade out of song*

*sees Medusa* *starstruck* Medusa:

Poseidon? What are you doing here?

Poseidon:

Hi. *smiling* *gets Medusa’s hand* You look wonderful.

Medusa:

Thank you. But what brings you here?

Poseidon:

Of course, my darling, I did not send you those letters for no reason.

Medusa:

You are the one who sent those letters?

Poseidon:

Yes, my darling. I can’t contain all the emotions I feel towards you. You complete me, I want you, Medusa. Please, let me have you.

Poseidon:

*tries to kiss Medusa*

Medusa:

No. I can’t. I’m sorry.

Poseidon:

What do you mean you can’t? I can be the best man you can ever imagine, I can give you everything your heart desires. What more do you want?

Medusa:

All these for a night with you? No.

Poseidon:

I will get what I want. You are mine!

*Poseidon carries Medusa* Medusa:

LET GO OF ME, YOU PERVERT! AAAAAAH.

Narrator:

There was Medusa, held in the arms of Poseidon, grasped by his overwhelming lust and desire.

(exit Poseidon and Medusa)

Scene 5 (enter Athena and Zeus) Narrator 1:

And so, Poseidon got what he wanted – with force. He raped Medusa inside Athena’s temple. Athena did not know any of this yet. Athena is on her way to her father to seek guidance for her priestesses.

(Cue in SFX: Thunder) *Zeus playing Candy Crush* Zeus:

*Candy crush sfx* NICE! Oh, blast it!

*Athena walks around incessantly* Zeus:

What is it now, Athena?

Athena:

I am so fed up with all the drama in Athens. It is too much for me to handle. UGH!

Zeus:

Oh, calm down Athena. Those will eventually fade away.

Athena:

If it’s not too much to ask, Father, how are my priestesses? Are there any problems with them?

Zeus:

Uh huh.

(“Divine” sfx – Candy Crush) Medusa:

Will you turn that goddamn phone down?!

Zeus:

Come on, I was winning!

Medusa:

Ugh, you have plenty of time to play that blasted game. Again, I’ll repeat my question: How are my priestesses? Are there any problems with them?

Zeus:

Hmm… all of them seem to be obeying you --- wait! There’s one problem.

Athena:

What?

Zeus:

Unfortunately, one of your priestesses have disobeyed you, and neglected her own oath. One of them is no longer pure.

Athena:

Who is that woman you speak of?

Zeus:

A maiden…..named Medusa.

Athena:

Medusa? That can’t be! Are you sure?

Zeus:

Have I ever been wrong?

Athena:

THAT BLASTED WITCH!!! AAAAAH.

(exit Zeus and Athena)

*sings* But there are dreams that cannot be….. *music stops*

*startled* Y-yes, Athena?

Athena:

Where have you been last night?

(cue in music: Suspense BG Music) Medusa:

In your temple, my lady. After all, it is a duty of mine as your priestess to…

Athena:

Are you sure?

Medusa:

Definitely yes, my lady.

Athena:

How about your purity, are you still sure about it?

Medusa:

*silent*

Athena:

What have you done?

Medusa:

It wasn’t my fault, Athena! I swe—

Athena:

Oh, shut it!

Medusa:

I swear! It was Poseidon! He forced himself---

Athena:

Don’t put the blame on others! It was your own fault.

Medusa:

I’m sorry! Please, Athena! I’m innocent. I would never disobey you, thy grace.

Athena:

You know I despise liars and traitors! I can’t believe that you are going to be one. You have pushed me to my limits, and ignited rage and fury within me! From now on, your skin will be hard and scaly, your long, silky hair will be turned into green snakes, and worst of it, you will receive a curse. One look at you will turn any living things to stone!

(Thunder strike) Medusa: Cursed Medusa:

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!ARGH!!! What have you done? My hair…. my face…. my divine beauty.

Athena:

That punishment of yours is worthy of your betrayal to thy Goddess. Now, face the consequences of your actions and suffer eternally.

Cursed Medusa: Narrator 1:

NOOOOOOOOOO! I don’t deserve this. Take this back! And so Medusa is cursed for life. She is banished to an isolated island, alone by herself. I’ll slay you and your snakes.

CURSED MEDUSA: Try then. *shows herself* Hero 2:

*turns into stone*
