Control Panel Operation
1. Torch There are 12 torches, each with an up/down switch and a condition switch, for the user. These switches are only used for the gas cutting torch vertical movement. The switches are arranged as figure, and each switch can be switched up or down as needed.
(condition switch),
Control torch up/down movement - Page 5 -
CNC Cutting Machine - Operation Manual
AMG
Ver: 1.10 Date:2014/7/8
If the switch is switched up, the torch moves upwards. If the switch is switched down, the torch moves downwards.
The rightmost switch controls all torch movement simultaneously. However, for the rightmost switch to be able to control the torches, each individual torch’s condition switch must be switched up. Ex: Condition Switches 1-12 As below
You can see switches 1,2,6,7, led lighter are on state, - when the user switches the rightmost switch upwards at this point, torches 1,2,6,7 will move upwards, and torches 3,4,5,8 will not move. In the same manner, when the user switches the rightmost switch downwards, torches 1,2,6,7 move downwards, and torch 3,4,5,8 will not move. Regardless of the condition switch being in the up or down position, each torch can vertically move up or down by switching each bottom (movement) switch accordingly. Suppose the rightmost switch is in the up position, and torches 1,2,6,7 are moving upwards. If the operator switches the No. 1 torch’s movement switch down at the time. the No. 1 torch will move downwards, because each torch’s individual movement switch has a higher priority than the leftmost switch. While the CNC is cutting, torches 1,2,6,7 will move up (or down) together by CNC control. This is used in piercing, and the torches will move up automatically if the condition switch is in the up position, when cutting is complete.
2. Gas The gas control area is in the bottom left corner and contains 2 switches. One is “Cut”, which is used for to turn the cutting O2 solenoid on. The second switch is “Preheat”, to control preheating. Before cutting, the operator has to switch down the preheating switch (the switch has 3 positions: Up Middle
= High preheating O2 solenoid ON ,and gas solenoid ON = High preheating O2 , Low Preheating O2 , and Gas are all OFF - Page 6 -

Ver: 1.10 Date:2014/7/8
= Low preheating O2 solenoid and Gas solenoid ON
The preheat switch is switched down to ignite the gas, and the high preheat is only used in adjusting the flow rate test. During cutting, the switch must be in the down position. The cutting switch is only used in adjusting the flow rate test. During cutting, this switch must be in the down position as well. This switch only has two positions: Up and Down. When in the up position, the cutting O2 solenoid is ON. During CNC cutting, the CNC will automatically control the High Preheating O₂ solenoid valve, as well as the Cutting O2 solenoid valve.
3. Plasma On/Off switch: This switch has 2 positions. When switched on, the plasma arc is on. When switched off, the plasma arc is off. This is used in manual plasma operation. THC : Torch Height Control. In “auto” position mode, the CNC will control the torch height automatically,. In the “off” position, THC will not function. In the “man” position, THC is functional even if the CNC is not running (this is used in manual plasma cutting). Speed: High/Low – the plasma up/down vertical speed can be adjusted for better positioning on the Z axis. Up/down – controls the vertical movement of the plasma torch.
4. Limit The limit switch protects the torch positioning on the CNC’s X, Y (left/right) axis. When the machine touches the very left, right, front or rear of the limit switch, the machine will stop immediately. The operator must press and hold the Limit button and drive the machine to a safe position, and then release the button.
5. Light On/off: Enables and disables a red x-beam laser light that is used to align the plate.
6. STOP This button controls the servo driver power. If any errors occur, press the red button to stop the machine (this button does not affect actual CNC power – the CNC power remains - Page 7 -

on even while this button is pressed).
7. CNC POWER This button is used to control the CNC machine’s power. The operator can power on the machine by pressing the button. If the STOP button is pressed (NO servo driver power), the CNC will be unable to control the machine, and can only can simulate the cutting process.

Purpose:Simple editing software is provided with the cutting machine to allow theoperator to create easy graphics.
2.
Method:Start by click 『1. Edit』enter the function. Select the file you intend to modify or a new filename can be created. Create a new filename by click 『New』button to access the editing system.
3.
Coordinate method:This editing method adopts the relative coordinate system. For the X-axis, + is used to move right and – is used to move left For the vertical movement, + moves up and – moves down. The difference between the different coordinate systems is as follows:
a). Absolute coordinates: Coordinates are positioned according to the lower left corner, which is set as home position. - Page 12 -
AMG
CNC Cutting Machine - Operation Manual
Ver: 1.10 Date:2014/7/8
b). Relative coordinate: Coordinates are positioned according to the last point used in the previous editing command, and uses the point as home position (this method is recommended).
4.
Editing of graphic:The operator may proceed with drawing the graphic once the coordinate system being used is known. Editing is briefly divided into three main areas: Editing area, command area, and coordinate area. Descriptions of each area are as follows:
a). Editing area: Allows you to edit your drawing in the display. immediately, and allows the graphic to be zoomed in/out as well as moved up, down, left, and right. b). Coordinate Area: Shows the file name and the coordinate data of the drawing, for immediate reference of the point’s present location. C). Command area: Allows basic save, move, insert, delete, and zoom in/out commands. Functions such as move, line, circle, and dot are located in editing command.
5.
Special function:The last line in the coordinate area indicates the last X, Y positionused at the present time. The orange area in the coordinate area indicates the present step of the editing, and the blue line indicates the name of the graphic currently present in the editing area.
※….Description of commands…. ※ 1.
MOV: Torch executes a dry run movement without any cutting. This command is used to move to the next cutting point after cutting of the present curve or line is complete. The X, Y coordinates correspond to the last relative move of a previous command.
2.
AMOV: Torch executes a dry run move without executing any cutting, used to move to the next cutting point cutting of the present curve or line is complete. The difference from the MOV command is that the X, Y coordinates of AMOV is calculated relative to a home position of (0,0).
3.
L line:Torch moves along the length of the X,Y parameter, with X,Y calculated using the relative coordinate system.
4.
R curve:Measured in angle values from 0~3600, representing 0~360 degrees. X,Y is - Page 13 -

Utility Preface: There are numerous editing programs available on the market that use different file formats. Therefore, it is necessary to use the conversion software supplied to obtain the correct cutting figure format required for the machine. The most commonly used file formats at present are DXF (AutoCad, TurboCad), and CNC (G code or M code). Some software formats will be converted into CNC code after the graphic is drawn - this path includes .DXF file formats.
- Page 19 -

Document Translate: Provid CAD/CAM file type example DXF、CNC convert program. DXF is the international standard file of CAD/CAM, and the user may use this procedure if AUTO CAD or any other CAD software is used. Press ENTER to display the file selection screen, select the desired file to be converted, press ENTER again, and the computer will automatically convert the file within approximately 1 to 2 seconds. The file name after conversion will have an extension name of *.NOA. Supplementary: There following rules must be kept in mind while using AUTO CAD in preparing the drawing: no text, numbers, arrows, remarks, etc are allowed - only the desired figure to be cut is allowed in the drawing. Also, if the diameter of a circle is equal to 3mm, it will be considered a marker for a pilot hole. Therefore, if there is a pilot hole mechanism device in the CNC cutting machine, then it will automatically convert this small circle into a pilot hole, and proceed with the cut. If there is no pilot hole mechanism on the machine, then the circle will be ignored and considered non-existent in this drawing. If the CAD file contains text, numbers, arrows, remarks, etc, they will be ignored during conversion into the CNC file format. If the designer feels that a pilot hole with a 3mm diameter is too small and will cause inconvenience during editing, he may set the 3mm diameter to any size preferred. However, the designer must change the identifying setting of the pilot hole diameter in the parameters to the new diameter value. Regardless of when the pilot hole is drawn in relation to the actual figure to be cut, the pilot holes will be converted first during conversion to the CNC file format, then conversion of the actual cutting model will follow. During the conversion process, if a message showing “…..(Y/N)” appears on screen, please press “Y” to proceed. This message appears because some functions of the model cannot be accepted by the CNC format, but this can be ignored.

Preface: Enter selection 3 to execute cutting. Please select the file name you desire to cut after entering the menu, then Click 『Load』 to loading cutting filtname to enter the Cutting screen. If you want to rotate the file, while double click the filename of the file desired, and key in the rotation angle. In the cutting menu, the screen is divided into two portions – the cutting figure area and command area. The descriptions of each part are as follows: 1. This in most commonly used function. All movements the machine makes are controlled from this menu. When the user enters the main menu of the cutting screen, the first thing is to confirm that the correct figure was loaded. If the file is not the shape you desired, press ESC to exit the cutting menu. If it is correct, proceed to the following step to begin cutting. 2. The left frame displays the planned figure to be cut, and enlarges or reduces the image according to the degree of zoom. If the figure exceeds the display area, it will adjust the frame size automatically according to the size. The followings are the explanation of function button:
: To Start Cutting : To enter manual mode This function is used to move the torch to “home position” when there is no absolute home position on the table itself, and the steel plate itself cannot be placed properly to create such a point. Click this button to enter manual mode Screen shown as below:
The advantage of the remote control during manual operation is that the user does not need to stand next to the computer area to operate any of the movements as well as ignite the torch, start and stop the machine and movement, or control the rate of travel. This keeps the user from being trapped in a stationary area. While it is preferred if the steel plate is placed properly, it does not make a difference in the cutting process. The - Page 26 -

computer can automatically calculate the displaced angle of the placement of the steel plate and adjust the cut accordingly. The method of measuring is as follows: The measurement of the displacement angle of the steel plate can be conducted in relation to the X or Y axis. If the track of the machine is set to the Y axis, the gate axis will be set to the X axis. Press “Y” if you want to measure the displacement angle of the steel plate according to the direction of Y axis. Press “X” if you want to measure the displacement angle of the steel plate according to the direction of X axis. First, manually move the torch to any edge (usually the home position) to align with this point, then press key “1” to have the computer memorize this coordinate. Then move the torch to any edge (usually opposite home position) to align with a second point, then press key “2” to have the computer memorize this coordinate and calculate the displacement angle of the X,Y axis. Pressing “3” allows the machine to return to the point when the “1” was pressed without requiring the user to use the remote control. When the SPACE key is pressed to return to the main menu, the computer turn the angle of the figure automatically to align with the placement direction of the steel plate and will display the “steel plate angle” to an accuracy of one millionth of a degree (6 spaces after the decimal). If no shift angle is desired, then click 『Option』『Plate angle Adj.』button to clear angle values. If only “1” is set, and not “2”, then the piece will stay at the original angle without any change. : To change cutting speed. : Change cutting pen. (Plasma/Flame) : Enter advanve setting screen. Shown as below.

: This function may or may not be used, but it is important and helpful – especially when planning the cutting of remaining material. For normal cutting, the lower left corner is set to be home position. Move the torch to home position and then commence cutting. However, remaining piece of material do not have this home position corner, and the machine still needs an input for a home position coordinate. At this point, move the torch manually to the position desired to begin cut, and then click 『Direct Loc.』『Clear』 button to resume without direct positioning). At this time click 『RUN(F3)』 to skip the dry run process at the beginning of the cutting process and start directly from this point.
The function allows the user to input the number of penetration points for the current project. This input allows the user to return to the program after an extended period of time (such as the end of one shift to the beginning of the next), and resume cutting the same project. To do so, the user must press the pause key on the remote control or the ESC key on the keyboard at any position during cutting, to stop the cutting process. The user then presses “F” on the keyboard to return the machine to the last penetration point made (the machine will not move if it has just completed or is currently on a penetration point). The computer will memorize this puncture point. Remember not to move the steel plate at this time, or the position of the project will be shifted.
: As the same with 『Direct Loc.』function. : If the piece to be cut is not the size that is shown onscreen, then the onscreen value can be changed by click 『Zoom』button . Please input the zoom ratio desired this value can be set to three places after the decimal point, or thousandths of a value. click 『Zoom』button to modify the value again until the zoom ratio is satisfactory. : If the cutting involves more than one piece, replication can be conducted according to the size of the steel plate. Check to see how many X- and Y- axes can beaccommodated, and the space between each piece. - Page 28 -

4-3-3 Home Setting This parameter is the setting of home position. Suggest to confirm the home position before cutting task. The procedure for system returns back to home position is described as following: the machine first moves with high speed, when the machine contacts the limit switch, the moving changes to low speed and goes converse direction to keep away from the sensor, after moves away from the limit switch, then the machine will be stopped after a certain distance according to the offset setting. Therefore the machine stopping position can be set as the origin. X Home INP: As the sensor junction.
Y Home INP: As the sensor junction. To Home Speed(High(1st) mm/min): High speed first moving
To Home Speed(Low(2nd) mm/min): Low speed second moving X Home Direction : If X axis at origin runs converse direction, then change this value.
Y Home Direction : If Y axis at origin runs converse direction, then change this value.
X Offset: The offset value of X axis after away from the sensor.
Y Offset: The offset value of Y axis after away from the sensor.
