CHAPTER ELEVEN ‫نوح الرسول‬ The leaders messengership He carries You warn! It comes to them

Deviation, misguidance ‫لنراك‬ At the top of his َ voice ‫رسلت‬ I convey to you I advise CHAPTER FOURTEEN ‫أِتبَ َعك االرذلون‬ ‫ارذلون‬

Follow you

‫أغنٌاء‬ ‫ِختار‬ َ ‫ا‬ ‫لَم ٌَخت َر‬ ‫أمانة‬ ‫ِمن قَبل‬

ُ ‫أجا َبه‬ ‫ٌلعب‬ ‫كان‬ ُ ‫ُمتَكَبرون‬ ‫النزَ َل‬ ‫ِرٌاسة‬ ‫ِبهذا الطرٌق‬

‫ضاللة‬ ‫ِبؤعلى صوته‬ ‫أُبلغُ ُكم‬ ‫ص ُح‬ َ ‫أن‬

‫أِتبعك‬

Kept them occupied The feeble ones The one who expels

‫شغَلَت ُهم‬ َ ‫أراذل‬ ‫طارد‬ ِ

He strived They ponder He expels CHAPTER 15 ‫حجة االغنٌاء‬

َ‫أِجت َ َهد‬ ‫ٌُفَكروا‬ ‫طرد‬ ُ ٌَ

We have tried. It has been our experience followers

CHAPTER 18 ‫السفٌنة‬ ‫ان ٌَن ُج َو‬ That he makes ‫نجار‬ Work, occupation

‫بساط‬ ‫آذان‬

‫تُعبَد‬ ‫رت‬ َ َ ‫أكث‬ ‫س‬ َ ‫ٌَ ِئ‬

‫ٌَصنَ َع‬ ‫شُغل‬

‫َرمل‬ ‫ت َ َج ُرها‬ ‫أحٌانا‬

‫حداد‬ ُ ‫ت َصعُد‬ ‫ثٌران‬

CHAPTER 19 ‫الطوفان‬ ‫العٌاذ ُ باهلل‬

‫بوة‬ َ ‫َر‬

May Allah protect! Sieve,hole It sprang (water sprang) Elevated, went up

‫َملجاء‬

They run away

َ‫ٌَفِرون‬

It rained

‫أمطرت‬

Does not hold It surrounded

ُ‫ال تُم ِسك‬ َ ‫أحا‬ ‫ط‬

Height, elevation, eminence refuge

‫ِمنخلة‬ ‫نَبَ َع‬ ‫اِرتَقَى‬

CHAPTER 20 ‫ابن نوح‬ I will betake myself, I will seek shelter savior He grieved

‫سآوي‬

Ride! (imperative)

‫أِركَب‬

‫عاصم‬ ِ َ‫َح ِزن‬

ً‫عص ُمن‬ ِ ٌَ ‫حا َل‬

CHAPTER 21 ‫لٌس ِمن أه ِل َك‬ lineage

CHAPTER 2 ‫كفران عاد‬ ‫ٌنحتون‬ ingratitude ‫على اثر‬ needs ‫أغبٌاء‬

The wise ones

‫وبال‬ ‫غابة‬

CHAPTER 3 ‫عدوان عاد‬ transgression Brutes, fierce animals

‫عاصفة‬ ‫َمرعى‬ ‫عٌون‬

‫كفران‬ ‫حاجات‬ ‫عقلء‬

‫عدوان‬ ‫ُوحوش‬

The honorable ones

‫أ ِعزة‬

agitated

‫هائج‬

The submissive ones

‫أذلة‬

CHAPTER 4 ‫قصور عاد‬ Activity, occupation building

‫شغل‬

palaces

‫قصور‬

‫بناء‬

‫ٌَفخ َُر‬

elevated dweller

‫ُمرت َ ِفعة‬ ‫ساكن‬

Takes pride, boasts It wastes Without need

‫ت َضٌ ُع‬ ‫من غٌر حاجة‬

CHAPTER 5 ‫هود الرسول‬ From among them On the basis of wisdom and righteousness

‫من انفسهم‬ ‫على عقل و صالح‬

They do not use He grew up

‫ال ٌستعملون‬ َ ‫نشؤ‬

CHAPTER 6 ‫دعوة هود‬ You throw towards it Does not leave More honorable

It became tight Indeed we consider you

‫ترمون الٌه‬ ‫فار ُق‬ ِ ٌُ ‫ال‬ ‫أجل‬

You sculpted

bone More humiliated CHAPTER 7 ‫جواب القوم‬ They were َ‫ضاق‬ satisfied ‫لَنَظُنُ َك‬ Restlessness, a sense of uneasiness

‫نحتموها‬ ‫عظم‬ ‫أذل‬

‫أطمانوا‬ ‫ضٌق الصدر‬

You lose, you miss

Did you find it surprising?

It afflicted you It falls

It was lost on them boldness

CHAPTER 8 ‫ِحكمة هود‬ ُ I do not decrease, َ‫ال ت َفقد ُون‬ I do not cause any flaw ‫ع ِجبتُم‬ You wonder َ ‫َأو‬

CHAPTER 9 ‫اٌمان هود‬ ‫اصابَ َك‬ Did not find ُ‫ت َسقُط‬ Make a plan against me CHAPTER 10 ‫عناد عاد‬ ‫عت فٌهم‬ obstinacy َ ‫ضا‬ ‫جراءة‬

We look forward to He expressed grief

‫ص‬ ُ ُ‫ال أنق‬ ‫تَتَعَجون‬

‫لَم ت َِجد‬ ‫كٌدونى‬

‫عناد‬ ‫نَشتا ُق‬ ‫ف‬ َ ‫تؤ‬ َ ‫س‬

CHAPTER 11 ‫عذاب‬ They shouted It uproots It flew around

‫صاحوا‬ ‫ت َقلَ ُع‬ ‫طارت‬ َ

piece (wind) blew It demolishes

‫ِقط َعة‬ ‫هبت‬ ‫ت َه ِد ُم‬

They hugged They(female) cried loudly protector

َ‫اِعتَنَق‬ َ‫صحن‬ ِ ٌَ

‫ِرمال‬ ‫ُجدران‬

‫عاصم‬ ِ

They seek help

‫ٌَست َغٌثون‬

desolate saved

They were superior to them They engraved, painted It softened It caused to grow It showed generosity

‫ناقة ثمود‬ CHAPTER 1 ‫بعد عاد‬ ‫فاقوهم‬ It inherited

‫َو ِرثَت‬

َ‫ٌنقُشون‬

manufacturing

‫صناعة‬

‫الن‬ ‫ت‬ َ َ‫أنب‬ ‫جادَت‬

exquisite wax sping

‫بدٌعة‬ ‫شمع‬ ‫ربٌع‬

They were given

‫اُوتوأ‬

‫ِآمن‬

slaves They humiliated themselves He refuses They submitted

Lives, ages CHAPTER 2 ‫كفران ثمود‬ Did not carry them Soft ground, plain

CHAPTER 3 ‫عبادة االصنام‬ ‫عُباد‬ It was not enough for them ‫أهانوا انفسهم‬ He gave them honor ‫ٌؤبى‬ What a wonder! ‫ضعوا‬ He disobeys them َ ‫َخ‬ He humiliated them CHAPTER 4 ‫صالح علٌه الصالة و السالم‬

‫ عمر‬,‫اعمار‬ ‫لَم ٌحمل‬ ‫سهل‬ َ

‫لم ٌكفهم‬ ‫كرمهم‬ ‫عجبا‬ ‫ٌَعصٌ ِهم‬ ‫أذلهم‬

Point towards him

‫شٌر الٌه‬ ُ ٌُ

Prestige, rank, state servants dignity

‫شؤن‬ ‫خدم‬ ‫كرامة‬

Of a noble descent hope

‫نجٌب‬

He will earn He gives him honor

‫ب‬ ُ ‫ٌَك ِس‬ ‫شرفه‬ ِ ٌُ

‫رجاء‬

CHAPTER 5 ‫دعوة صالح‬ It did not please them He will recompense you

leadership losers You died You are promised He fabricated

He advised Failed, disappointed He passed by

‫ما أع َجبَت ُهم‬ ‫ٌجزٌكم‬

At the top of his voice He will resurrect you

CHAPTER 6 ‫دعاٌة االغنٌاء‬ ‫رٌاسة‬ They incline ‫خاسرون‬ You obeyed him ‫ِمتُم‬ Does he promise you? ‫توعدون‬ How preposterous! ‫أِفترى‬ Those who are resurrected propaganda

َ ‫ع‬ ‫ظ‬ َ ‫َو‬ ‫خاب‬ َ

CHAPTER 7 ‫قد أخطؤ ظننا‬ Made a mistake Inferior to you

‫َم َر‬

fatigue CHAPTER 8 ‫نصٌحة صالح‬

‫باعلى صوته‬ ‫ٌبعثكم‬

‫ٌمٌلون‬ ‫أطعتُم‬ ‫أٌ ِعد ُكم‬ ‫هٌهات‬ ‫مبعوثون‬ ‫دعاٌة‬

‫أخطؤ‬ ‫دون ََك‬ ‫ت َ َعب‬

CHAPTER 9 ‫ما أسؤلكم علٌه من أجر‬ ‫عجز‬ They act immorally ‫ت‬ Those under a ِ ‫أ‬ spell CHAPTER 10 ‫ناقة هللا‬ ُ ‫ت ِلد‬ She camel ‫أٌقَنوا‬ It produces ‫تحٌر‬ They will win over CHAPTER 11 ‫النوبة‬ ‫ال تمسوها بسوء‬ Respect!
