for Lou and the wolf:
3 different color yarns (to crochet the head/body/shoes)- I use cotton yarn 8/4 2,25 mm or 2,5 mm crochet hook (depending on your tension) Needles for sewing up A small amount of black yarn to embroider the eyes Sport weight soft yarn (mohair or alpaca style) for hat, hair and overalls (3 different color).
2,75 or 3 mm crochet hook for the hat • 2 different color yarns for the wolf (cotton or wool) • Polyester toy stuffing • A small amount of yarn of your choice for the gloves • A small amount of thicker yarn of your choice for the snood • The finished doll (using the materials listed) measure approximately 26 cm. And the little Wolf 8 cm.

Stitches and abbreviations: This pattern uses American standard abbreviations ch : slst : sc :

Each piece is crocheted in a continuous spiral, not in joined rounds, starting off with a magic loop. Use a stitch marker to mark the end of each round (a piece of contrasting yarn can be used if you don’t have any stitch markers). At the end of each line, you will find the number of stitches you should have in brackets. Legs, body and head are worked in a single piece (bottom-up). Please ensure that you stuff your doll firmly as you go. I used a thin wooden stick to stuff the smaller pieces. Always change your yarn in the last step of the last stitch.

Finish the work with a slst, cut the yarn and sew it well. Crochet the second boots in the same way.
Hat : (Work with soft mohair or alpaca yarn and 2,75 mm crochet hook) The brim of the hat is crocheted in rows and the main part of the hat in rounds.
The brim : By crocheting in the back loop only, you can create a ribbing effect: 7ch, (starting in the 2nd ch from hook), 6sc, 1ch, turn BLO 6sc, 1ch, turn (54 rows) At the top of the brim, we are going to continue crocheting the main part of the hat in rounds with sc. Pick up the 54 stitches of the top of the brim (this is your first row) and crochet the rest of the hat- working in the round as follows: 2-9

Crochet the second ear in the same way. Don’t stuff the ears. Flatten the ears and close the opening with sc. Fasten off, leave a tail to sew the ears onto the hat at row 10 with of 8 stitches between them.
Hair : (with yarn of your choice) Cut 8 strands of yarn, 10 cm long. Fold them in half and attach them (with your hook) through the head stitches using a slipknot at rounds 18, 16, 14 and 12 (as pictured). Then pop the hat on and style hair as shown. Once you are happy with the look sew the doll’s hat onto her head.
Snood : (with thicker yarn of your choice and a larger hook, according to the yarn) 56 ch. Starting in the 2nd chain from hook: 54dc along the chain. Fasten off and weave in ends.
