Nokia Flexi Lite BTS 1900 The all-in-one base station optimized to enhance WCDMA network capacity and coverage The Nokia Flexi Lite BTS 1900 is a compact all-inone base station for WCDMA network capacity and coverage enhancements in the 1900MHz (PCS) band. The Flexi Lite BTS is based on Nokia’s awardwinning Flexi Multiradio Base Station platform and so incorporates a wealth of experience and proven capabilities derived from worldwide field operations. One solution - many applications Suitable for deployment in both outdoor and indoor environments, the Flexi Lite BTS is ideal for adding more cells for capacity in urban and dense urban areas if the addition of new macro cell carriers is not possible. The BTS can be used for both micro cell and pico cell applications making it an ideal solution to cover traffic hotspots or to fill network coverage holes, as well as being suitable for improving coverage inside buildings, for example airports and railway stations. The benefits of Small Cell deployments Deploying small cell base stations is an extremely cost-effective way to boost network capacity and coverage in metropolitan traffic hotspots as well as in residential and commercial areas where most mobile broadband usage occurs. The Flexi Lite BTS provides an efficient means to meet market growth while simultaneously offloading voice and data traffic from the operator’s macro network. Visually discrete The Flexi Lite’s compact form factor makes it easy to conceal in dense urban environments where aesthetics are very important. In situations where appearances are critical, the Flexi Lite can easily be camouflaged to blend with its surroundings.

The Flexi Lite BTS opens up new site location and deployment possibilities thanks to its compact size and light weight, which makes deployment by a single installer very easy and rapid. Its silent active-cooling reduces installation clearances, meaning that the Flexi Lite BTS can be installed in locations not much larger than the BTS itself e.g. in already crowded sites, utility rooms, inside cabinets etc. This compact BTS can be also installed back to back for compact multiband and multiradio sites. This brings opportunities for further savings relating to site acquisition and rental costs by allowing operators to extend coverage to areas that were previously either inaccessible or not commercially viable.

The Flexi Lite BTS is supported by Nokia’s renowned global services. Tailored services, a wealth of resources and efficient processes all combine to help networks perform better. We use our experience of successful deployments in multi-vendor environments, greenfield and swap projects to improve the experience of operators and their subscribers alike. In line with all Nokia network products, the Flexi Lite BTS is managed by Nokia’s NetAct OSS platform, which allows operators to manage their entire network operations from a single location.

The base station also has green credentials with a low power consumption helping to reduce operating costs even more.
