TOPIC: Wh questions

SUBJECT: English

GENERAL OBJECTIVES:  The students will be able to ask questions about different topics (traveling, working, studying, just to name a few) using “wh” questions. SPECIFIC OBJETIVES:  The students will identify and use “wh” questions in order to get information related to different situations, e.g:  Asking for information about something.  Asking for reasons.  Asking about time.  Asking about a place or position.  Asking about choice.  Asking for a subject/object.  The students not only will be able to ask for information but to give information too.  The students will form “wh” questions with the correct structure.

TEACHING PROCEDURE: Warm Up:

SUGGESTED TIME FRAME: 100 minutes BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 



The use of Simple Present: its semantic and grammatical function. The use of different verbs, for instance: to drink, to eat, to do.

GRAMATICAL FOCUS: “Wh” questions are interrogative forms used in an information statement.

 An introductory activity will consist of an informal conversation (for instance, a conversation between two friends) with the students in order to make questions about PRONUNCIATION: the places where they live, things that they like to do, etc. The pronunciation of “wh” questions is Presentation: going to be listened, learnt and used during the class by its constant repetition 1. What is your favorite TV show? When did you start watching the show? Where was it aired for the first time?
