Differentiation: None. Potential problems: - Pronunciation problems of new words. - How to differentiate between the use of “a” and “an”.

Introduction / Warmer: - Teacher explains the lesson objectives and writes it on the board. - Explanation of the theme: Fruits. Teacher brings some common fruits he can find in the market of the country. - He shows the fruits and ask the students if they know the name and writes all of the suggestions on the board.

Rule for indefinite article: “an” and “a” are “un” ou “une” in French and the plural is “des”. For both a/an it is not just defined as a= un and an= une. It can be both. in French they distinguish between the masculine and the feminine. They also use plurals.

This game will help even more with the process of memorization in a fun way.
7 Detail: Activity 1: Presentation – Teacher will project a PPT to explain the use of article “an” and the differences with French language. It is important to use and attractive and stimulating PPT to capture the attention of children. Ask children if they remember words from last lesson , write them down on the board with the indefinite article “a”. Then write other words and show the use of “an”, the vowel can be marked with a different color, so it is more appealing. Activity 2: Practice – Students will work in pairs to assign an indefinite article to each of the fruits the teacher showed. The use of a real fruit will enhance the memorization because of the sensory characteristic of it. For those who finish before, more fruits can be showed in the PPT. Activity 3: Game – Take enough plastic fruit pieces for each student or fruit flashcards. Throw the fruit around the classroom. Model the activity: say "(name) give me a/an (fruit)". Get up, find the fruit and put it into the box. Now hold the box and instruct a student to pick up a fruit, bring it back to you and put it in the box. Do for each student in the class.
8 Reflect and cooler:
Ask students if they are unclear on any of the rules or when to use indefinite acticles. Explain that there are some exceptions. Ask students what fruits they would like to eat beginning with a vowel. ( “ I would like an …..”).

Activity 1: None. Activity 2: Add the article “a” and other fruits for more advance students. Activity 3: None.

Students are asked to search for animals and to use “an”.
