Three years ago, I traveled to the funny Costa Rica. I was trying to make a new life for me, so when I arrived, I stayed a few weeks with my elder sister and her husband who are from Venezuela just like me. I visited a lot of places and I could learned about their culture, which is very different than ours. Life in San Jose is more relaxed and many things happen; all this is because, as they like to say, everything is "Pure Life". The people here, called "Ticos" in a popular way, are as friendly as the "Costeños" of the: Caribbean and Pacific regions of Colombia. The weather is cold almost the entire year, so people wear with coats and bots for the rain; their way to talk, which have a special accent, is very different than our captivating lexicon. Regarding ideologies, they are more liberal than us, who are more conservatives. However, there are a lot of religions that are practiced because of the confluence of people from over the world. The food is different too, they eat some fruits than are not common in the coast like "Cas", that is a small green fruit, like guava, with a really sour taste, is like a mixture between lemon and grapefruit; also one of typical plates is "Casado", constituted basically of rice, beans and a fried sweet banana, which is usually accompanied by beef, pork, fish or chicken. Sometimes a cabbage garnish is included in the form of a salad and usually pasta is added in different variants. How San Jose is the capital of the country, it has a very developing regarding transportation, education and technology. You can move on bus, cab, or on a cycle because there are a lot of bike lines so is safe move on it. Even, you can run into people not only from all provinces (departments) of the city, but of the world, who are working and/or studying here, thanks to the exotic of this nation. So it’s a perfect place to cultural literacy, it doesn't matter what regions of Costa Rica you are knowing. There are many activities to do every day, from festivals to concerts or politic events, so it’s very interesting know about it. I really enjoyed my travel and I wish to come back again soon.
