TEACH-THIS.Com Just a Normal Day In this present simple teaching activity, students work in pairs and ask each other questions about their daily routine Before class, make one copy of the worksheet for each pair of students and cut as indicated. Procedure Give each student a copy of the worksheet. Begin by eliciting the present simple questions from the worksheet. Ask a few students some of the questions and highlight the use of the present simple. Examples: Q: What time do you wake up? A: I wake up at 7:30 a.m. Q: Do you do any sport or exercise? A: Yes, I do. I play football on Sunday afternoon. / No, I don’t. Next, put the students into pairs. One student interviews their partner and writes their partner's answers in the spaces provided. The students then swap roles. Tell the students to ask the questions in a random order so their partner really has to listen. When both students have finished, they compare their lifestyles and look for similarities and differences. As an extension, students write a paragraph about their partner using the present simple.
