FdA/BA (Hons) Illustration and Concept Art Illustration & Concept Art at University Centre Doncaster is a course built on the fundamental principles of perspective, composition, form, light, depth, colour and anatomy with drawing at it’s core. We stand for the mastery of these fundamentals as essential building blocks leading to visual development using traditional and digital techniques in synthesis to create artwork which is individual to you and commercially focussed on your career. If you love drawing and design and are willing to commit to serious hard work and dedication there’s a place here for you. Duration: 2 years full-time UCAS Course Code: W6G4 Course Code: V060 Institution Code: D52 Campus: High Melton Entry Requirements: One of the following: 1. 160 UCAS tariff pointsfrom at least 2 GCE A Levels or BTEC National qualifications or a Foundation Diploma 2. Access to HE Diploma in a related programme; all students must have completed the whole 60 credit qualification. 15 credits can be at Level 2, 45 credits at Level 3 and of these 45 credits 6 credits must be at Merit Level 3. Art and Design GNVQPass 4. AVCE, Art and DesignGrade C 5. Accreditation of Prior Learning 6. A full portfolio of artwork must be presented

Course Content and Structure This course aims to replicate, as closely as possible, the attitude, environment and practices found in professional studios. The focus is on transferable, traditional creative skills working hand in hand with high technology. You will explore Illustration and Concept Art using traditional art techniques and state of the art software Adobe Creative Suite®and Corel Painter® as well as a whole host of other industry standard applications. You will: • Acquire advanced professional skills leading to a specialist path • Develop and produce a portfolio of creative and professional work • Work on live projects. • Identify a chosen specialist area and develop your portfolio accordingly. • Illustrated Essay • Major Project. Year 3 (Level 6) BA (Hons) Illustration and Concept Art top-up Assessment Your progress is assessed via formal critiques with written feedback provided. Two formal assessments take place at key stages within the academic year with the final one determining your summative classification. Assessment is carried out using a variety of methods: • • • • • •
