Reading 3 Read and circle. Interviewer: I’d like to introduce you to Melanie King, an artist from New York. Welcome Melanie. You’ve had a very creative career, haven’t you? You’ve designed costumes for puppet shows, plays and films. Can you tell us about your first important creation? Melanie: Well, the play Carnival was first performed in 2004 and I designed all the costumes. They were made from all sorts of new and recycled materials. Interviewer: That’s right! Interviewer: Did you always want to be a costume designer? Melanie: Well, I was always very creative, but as a child I really wanted to be a fashion designer. Interviewer: And what about the future? Melanie: Well, I might try making costumes for television. And next year I will probably have my own exhibition right here in New York City.
