20% of total marks (30 marks) Up to 25 hours of Controlled Assessment, informal supervision 1 piece of music Using 2 or more of the 5 Areas of Study above You choose style or genre No minimum length, although more is better

 Recording of final composition– live performance, ICT or a combination  Must have a musical score e.g. staff notation, annotation, graphic notation, tab, or a combination

Assessment Criteria 30-26: Top  “Musically stimulating, interesting and satisfying”  “Successful and imaginative creation of musical ideas in the AoS”  “Completeness, evidence of development of musical ideas”  “Accurate score containing detailed performance directions”

20-16: Mid  “Largely effective”  “Some understanding of musical ideas in the AoS”  “Some understanding when writing for instruments/ voices”  “Score shows some accuracy”

10-6: Low  “Works at a basic level”  “Basic understanding of musical ideas in the AoS”  “Simple and lacking finish when writing for instruments/ voices”  “Score is not accurate and/or consistent ”
