Learning activity 4 Evidence: Calling 911 Complete the following dialogue. Then, retell the story to a friend. Imagine you have a medical emergency at home with one of your relatives and you are making a phone call to 911. Do not forget to keep in mind the correct way to report instructions and requests to write your composition. The first line is done as an example. Operator: 911, What’s your emergency? You: Please help me, my neighbor has just run over a bus, while passing the street Operator: Is the person Conscious? You:I do not know if she's conscious, but I think she's still breathing Operator: What’s his/her name and age? You: her name is Yeimmy Reyes, she is 28 years old. Operator: What’s your address? You: my address is 5th street number 3-46 santa Barbara Centro, Neighborhood. Operator: Got it. An ambulance is on its way. You: Please hurry miss!! How do I proceed with my neighbor while the ambulance arrives? Operator: You must keep calm You:I hear the noise of an engine, I think the ambulance is approaching! Operator: Don’t hang up until the ambulance is there. You: Quiet lady, I'll stay in line! Operator: Ok. That’s all I can do for you. You: thank you very much Miss! bye!

I told the operator that Yeimmy Reyes was hit by a vehicle while crossing a street. The operator asked me if Yeimmy was conscious I told the operator that I did not know if she was conscious, but that she was still breathing. The operator asked me for the full name and age of Yeimmy I told her the name of my neighbor and her age. The operator asked my address I gave my full address and neighborhood The operator told me that the ambulance was approaching I asked her what to do with my neighbor, while the ambulance arrived The operator told me to stay calm and not hang up the phone. I told her, that I was going to stay in line After I told the operator that possibly the ambulance was approaching, the operator told me that he could not do anything else for me. I thanked him for her cooperation, and I said goodbye
