Sus canciones, de las cuales es autor y se han vendido en miles de copias de álbumes, los premios obtenidos como el Grammy Latino al Mejor Álbum Cantautor en los años 2005, 2011 y 2012, y su nombramiento como "Embajador de buena voluntad" por UNICEF son algunos de los reconocimientos obtenidos en sus más de 20 años de trayectoria profesional.1 Su madre es la actriz y cantante peruana, Regina Alcóver; y su padre, el difunto compositor y cantante peruano Javier Zignago, conocido en el ambiente musical como Joe Danova. En el 2001 compone el tema "El Último Adios" en homenaje a las víctimas del ataque terrorista del 11 de setiembre del 2001, el cual interpretaron Alejandro Sanz, José Feliciano, Juan Luis Guerra, Marco Antonio Solís, Thalía, Gloria Estefan, Celia Cruz, Jaci Velásquez, Alejandro Fernández, Christina Aguilera, Beto Cuevas, Shakira, Ricky Martin, Luis Fonsi, Soraya, Jon Secada, etc. También interpretaron el tema en vivo en la Casa Blanca; aunque no todos los participantes originales.
