3.

Visualize is to create our own mental images about what we are reading.

4.

Make a quick reading, it helps us to have a main idea of the text and an

idea in general of what happens in the story.

5.

Read daily texts in English, this improves your reading level and you

learn more vocabulary, you can read stories, news, books or what you like to read, this helps you to expand the lexicon and understand the text much faster.

6. Ask yourself questions before, during and after reading. Examine the text before reading it and ask yourself the following questions: Are there words in bold or italics? What names are mentioned in the text?

Is there a lot of dialogue? Are the paragraphs short or long? After reading the text, answer the following questions to evaluate how much you understood. What was the text about? What were the most important things? Did something surprise you? Are there parts that you did not understand?

7.

Face the new terms. If you find an unknown word, underline it so that

later you look for the meaning, but if at the moment you can deduce what it means, ignore it. It is important to have the ability to understand the general idea of the text without resorting immediately to the dictionary. After the reading is finished, you can find out the exact meaning of the new concepts and form sentences with these words.

8. Make summaries and schemes. This is a good key to improve reading comprehension, in addition to reading is important the interaction with the text, when making the summary you are also practicing written expression, grammar and vocabulary. You can write your opinion with your own words to test your understanding.
