Introduction

With the activity of reading comprehension it is very important to learn a language. To improve reading comprehension, you should read the appropriate book according to the level of English that everyone has, starting with easy-to-read texts to gradually increase until you gradually reach a better level.

ACTIVITY 6: READING COMPREHENSION

1. Find a quiet place and a special time to read.

The important thing about reading comprehension is that we must be focused, considering that these moments have to be totally calm and without distractions.

To do this we can follow these steps:

• Find a quiet place that is well lit. • Get everything you need before sitting down to read. • Decide the duration of the reading session • Configure all your electronic devices in silent mode and save them

2. Identify the title and view illustrations.

With this you can have a slightly clearer idea of the content of the book.

3. Write those questions that may arise.

Plasma the questions that arise before, during and after reading, with this you can inquire more about the subject and increase your knowledge

4. Initially read full text without pauses.

After you make the previous points, we already have an idea of the content of the book, we proceed to read the full text and without pauses, from this we realize that we understood and remember it.

5.

. Read the text again carefully.

After generating the questions generated during a first reading, we perform the reading again and as many times as necessary in order to answer those questions.

6. Highlight the words you don't understand.

During reading, it is important to highlight the words that we do not understand, in order to consult their meaning and expand our vocabulary.

7. Read aloud.

With this we can practice our pronunciation and intonation of words, especially those that we consider to be difficult.

8. Associate words with images.

With this method we can visualize those words with images, which we can identify in any context.

9. Maintain an adequate rhythm during reading.

Taking adequate time during reading allows us to understand and analyze the content.

10. Organize a reading group with your friends.

These groups allow us to analyze the content from different points of view, achieving a better understanding of the text.
