10 THINGS I WOULD DO IF I WERE A CELEBRITY Cameras flashing, people cried out your name or maybe chasing after you wherever you go. The Paparazzi are always on the run to capture your latest events and image. That is the life of a celebrity. It is a fact that most of us are all dreaming to become a celebrity. Who does not want all the fame and publicity to make us famous around the world? I, too want fame and publicity but in a positive way, not in a negative way such as being involve in a scandal, drug addiction or committing suicide. Instead, I want to help people and the country I live in. There are actually 10 things I would do for my country, Malaysia if I were a celebrity. If I were a celebrity, I would organise a Charity Dinner and hold an auction to help the poor and the needy in the country. The money from the auction will all be given to the poor and the needy. Since I am a celebrity I can sell almost anything I own. I can sell clothes that I no longer wear, my belongings and even my own house. Recently, the late Michael Jackson’s glove was sold to a collector at a price of $350,000. If a glove like that is sold at that price, imagine how much it will cost for me to sell my personal belongings to the collectors! Nowadays, many celebrities adopt an orphan to support them for their living. I, instead will build homes for the orphans to live in and support them. I will make sure the homes are built in a safe place so that they can live in peace and harmony. They will experience love from the people around them, so that they will know that there are people who still cares for them and they will not get involved in negative activities such as drugs, smoking and robberies. Moving on to the next thing I would do for my country is by helping the down syndrome children in the country by spending time with them and buying gifts for them.

These Down syndrome children are also part of the community. Instead of neglecting them, we should try to help them for every child is a gift from God. We should try and appreciate them and help them to enjoy their lives despite of their ability. Next, I would donate blood to help patients who are in need of blood. Patients who suffer from Leukaemia, bleeding disorder such as haemophilia and thrombocytopenia needs special attention and cares. Since, I am a blood type O, I can easily donate blood to every kind of blood type since my blood is a universal donor. I can save many lives just by donating blood in my country. Other than donating blood, I would build libraries in the rural areas across the country and donate books as many as possible. In the rural areas such as Sabah and Sarawak really need libraries for the students to find out more about the world around them. Not only they have extra knowledge, they will also be up-to-date with news happening around the world. The sixth thing I want to do for Malaysia if I were a celebrity is to help the Ministry of Tourism by promoting the country to the rest of the world to visit Malaysia. Not only Malaysia will be known to the world, the economy of the country, the stock markets and the industrial activities will also increase. At this rate our country’s income will also increase making the country wealthy. The next thing on the list is by building a home for the homeless in Malaysia. Nowadays, we can see a lot of homeless people around Malaysia. Everyday, on the way to school, I would always see at least one homeless person. Feeling pity for them I decided to build a home for the homeless in the cities and towns within the country where the number of homeless people are numerous. These homes will provide food, clothing and shelter for them. Not only by providing them with necessities, the voluntary team and I will also help them to find a job so that they can support themselves.

The ninth thing on the list is to help stop corruption. Since I am a celebrity, people might think that I can do whatever I want to. I want to change their set of thinking by showing them that I am of the same rank by not giving bribery and not to mention receive bribery. Say, if I was asked to pull over to the side of the road for speeding by a policeman. He’s about to give summon. Then, he said that he’ll tear the summon paper for a little bribe. Instead of giving him the bribe, I will just take summon and move on. Together we can help to reduce the rate of corruption within the country. Last but not the least, I will help to preserve and enhance unity in diversity which has always been our strength and remains our best hope for the future in our country. Our country consists of people from various backgrounds, religion and culture. I will organize an open house and invite everyone from every race to come and visit during the festivities. This will help to enhance unity among the citizens of Malaysia. This will also create an environment of peace and harmony within the country. There are actually more things that I want to do for my country. I really hope that I can be a celebrity one day so that I can fulfill the list of things that I can do for my country. I want to help and give all that I have until it hurts to help the people around me even if I have to die to help them. 1005 words.
